Nerfed the APU with single channel ram.

What I would have is firstly bought a micro itx motherboard that’s cheap and r5 5600G with a cheap cooler for around 30$ and 32G of ram or 16GB for finally a micro itx case that doesn’t break the bank

you're so much better off getting a ryzen 5 1600 AF and RX 570

Could have gone without a case so you could get a gpu

I’d have definitely gone with more ram or at least duel channel because that APU is going to suffer seriously. I know it’s a very low cost build but 8 gbs just doesn’t cut it in 2023

Dual channel ram wouldn't hurt, but I don't mind since 8gb is bare minimum for gaming and it's probably the first upgrade anyways. I would definitely use a better PSU though. Get a good psu so it won't hurt things and it can stay as the pc is upgraded. Depending on the future upgrades planned I'd either do a 600w or a 700w option. Current specs it'd be stupid, but when you swap mobo cpu to a current gen mid-high end cpu you'd be happy to not need a psu as well. Or if you want something like a 3070ti/3080.

Budget pc generally just means you can't drop a large amount of cash at once so it's important to plan out upgrades. I did that and while at a time I had a 11400 with a 3070ti and 850w psu, in the end I've got a pretty banger 7900x for it and never had to upgrade the same part twice. Looked stupid up until the end goal almost 3 years later

I would suggest ditching the fancy case and opting for a free old oem case and going for another 8gb of ram for future proof if adding a gpu and maybe more storage

I know it goes over budget but 16gb ram makes sooo much of a difference and you can get 16GB 3200mhz ram for around 35$ and also 256GB is way too little cause you can fill that up with just a few games so I recommend getting 512GB or even 1TB if you have around 60$

For running office apps and Roblox 9/10. But simply cannot be called a "gaming" pc with no GPU. I know adding a GPU is impossible if "new" and whole system under $300 but, still. Now, make it sub $400 with GPU, lets GOOOO I wanna see what you find (used).

A better option would be to take an old dell or hp or even acer PC and put something like an arc 310 gt 1030 rx 550 gtx 1650 or even a rx 6400

I found a b450 motherboard couple of them in fact for 75 to $85 range paired with a Ryzen 5 4600g for $100 with the stealth cooler and a $100 Rx 580? Thoughts 🤔 I know it goes over the $300 budget but I think it's a great budget starter build
