Thank you so much for doing obscure 60s country songs. They seriously are freaking gems.

An absolute masterpiece and a fine example of greaser music

"T'ain't Nothin' to Me" is a song written by Pat Patterson (real name Leon Payne) and performed by The Coasters. The song reached #20 on the R&B chart and #64 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964.[1] The song appeared on the 1964 album, Apollo Saturday Night.

The original song was produced by Nesuhi Ertegun and Jerry Wexler and arranged by King Curtis.

The song was recorded live on November 16, 1963 at the Apollo Theater in New York City, New York.[3]

A country story about a bar fight, man tries to pick up the wrong woman and dies for it.
The deep matter of fact tone of voice used here is menacing and keeps your interest.
The guitars and drums, a great melody and the distorted fiddles add a darker theme. Great old country song. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Romello. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Welcome to the World of PsychoBilly Music!!! Glad you found us.
Throughout the history of recordings there has been a 'fringe element' of the people who wrote, sung, recorded and ultimately enjoyed the dark side of life. These songs didn't sell large amounts, most could not be played on the air waves at the time due to censorship and the threats from the FCC to revoke licenses of stations that played them.
But there were always those of us who enjoyed this side and kept it alive.
Problem was, no one in charge really knew what to call this genre of music. Oddball? Whack job? It just didn't fit.
And this genre started early on, like in the '20's or way before with folk music, but we are talking recordings.
Then, around late '50's/early '60's a song was written and recorded called 'Psycho'. Which was promptly banned from air play, but sold records and was a semi-success. It is a truly dark song. Listen to it at your own risk....
And thus came the name for the genre: PyschoBilly.

Listen to Cash's hit "One piece at a time". In it he mentions " yeah, this here is the psychobilly cadillac....".
He knew.

I don't remember ever hearing this artist from the 1950's, but the voice and music arrangements remind me of current country music singer Charley Crockett. Stripped down good old school country music.

The instrument that you were listening to in the background is called a fiddle in Country Music, and a violin in classical or orchestral.
Love your reactions.

Very cool. I'm always on the lookout for off the beaten track songs from every decade. Film noir set in the old west here. Great upload.

I think he stayed and finished his drink.

Good job. This compilation of the "Vinyl Wastelands" series is something that deserves to be listened to very calmly. Sanford Clark's album "They Call Me Country" as a whole is excellent and follows much of what you've heard. Great narratives under a simple musical structure but with interventions of dissonance and noise. Let's just say that original country music isn't party music. It's about poverty, "dust ball", crime, death, for example. You try to be a tough guy all the time because your stomach is growling. “It's Nothing To Me” was written by Leon Payne.

This sounds great. I am enjoying his deep voice. Catchy beat and fantastic bass. Nice choice. Thanks Romelo and Harri 🌺✌️

Harri, I believe that this is a cover. The Original, was done by the Coasters on a comedic level.

Interesting lyrics, I think not Harri's last reaction to Clark Sanford

I like how laconic the song is. Another country song in this vein would be Caseys last ride (kristofferson) or Psycho

I prefer Johnny Winters version on the album Still Alive and Well.

Sounds to me like pretty heavy use of the tremolo on the guitar.
