Carl Jung's Alchemy of Individuation - Preparing The Stone (Part 1)

In this 6-part series, we will explore individuation through an alchemical lens. Carl Jung devoted much of his life to uncover what the alchemists were hinting at throughout their words and images... and he realized it was the subject of his life. That being, the reality of the psyche itself.

In part 1, we will see the ground plan for individuation take shape... although it is not as straightforward as one would hope. Individuation is an unfoldment of consciousness, and this means there is not a set way to point you to individuation. Nor could I or anyone else teach it. It is a unique individual journey through the essence which weaves in and out of us all.

Each part of the series will focus on woodcuts that hint at this mystical journey of self knowing....self unfolding...or as the alchemists say: 'creating the lapis philosophorum, the philosopher's stone'.

This first video, aside from introducing the series as a whole, focuses on the first woodcut in the series of 20 we will explore. It is called (by Jung) The Mercurial Fountain. Mercurius is a name attributed to the spiritual essence behind the intelligence of everything in nature. A key reflection necessary before any inner work proceeds.

The series continues into the creation of the Philosopher's Stone in part 2 as two more woodcuts are explored...
The King and Queen (opposite & both masculine/feminine nature of consciousness)
The Naked Truth (devotion to the work)

Yea 👏👏👏 your back ! I’m so excited. So here’s some synchronicity 4 U . Lately I’ve been thinking about getting a tarot deck and been discussing this with others . And I’ve just started watching A Discovery of Witches on Netflix. The theme of the show is based on alchemy. I think we know the cards are all alchemical . Honestly the 1st image you showed in this video reminded me of the Ace of Cups while the next to come reminds me of the Lovers card . So the last piece of the synchronicities is I received a Shadow Work Journal book from a friend for my birthday last month. I feel all these pieces are moving into position somehow. Some of Jung's works I am in awe, , especially his Letters Vol 1, vol 2 arrives next week, . My approach to the Col Uncon includes Alchemy in part, , but mainly my approach is via study of history. cathars, anabaptists, etc etc. CG never wished we follow his own path, but that we larn from his work and strike out on new meanings, understandings, , which is what i intend to do,

I find it’s imperative to include other disciplines. He does not implement enough of the feminine. The feminine is half of the equation, the feminine, chaotic nature, is literally in the unconscious, and the sensitivity of the female, is what can mostly pick up this essence.
