Honestly thank you so much. I was having this issue where one bud was louder than the other, and it wasn't even consistent. One day the left would be loud, then another day the right would be loud. After doing this, they feel brand new, so thank you!

I forgot the AirPods on my phone and that was a bad idea because they don’t connect at all. Then I tried to hold the button down on the back like you said but all I see is a white light and I’ve held it down for quite a while. I’m not sure what I should do?

my airpods volume quality is low and poor, I was thinking if I go to best buy, and buy new ones and replace the old airpods with the new ones but keeping the old case and returning the new case but old airpods for a full refund. Will it work or not?
