I remember back in the day before the retro gaming market exploded you could just go into your local game store and buy almost any game for a reasonable price without having every game individually priced based on rarity or any number of factors that hike prices up these days. I miss those days now you have to give an arm and a leg for your retro fix

It's the fact they promise things and don't deliver. They say they throughly clean and inspect every single console and from most cases it appears they aren't doing it. The price is semi-justifiable if they actually do what they claim.

Well it’s not really the prices it’s the fact they say they sell refurbished consoles which has been proven multiple times not to be the case half the time they don’t even function

I saw a recent vid of someone who got a N64 from them and it was a system someone returned back to them and they just put another warranty sticker on the console and sent it to the next was completely filthy on the inside too which is why it was returned, so its not just about the prices like people think

hey ugg, love this vid, i feel the same way about dkoldies, their social media content is pretty good but they’re actively inflating the market. like they had a big ass order from lil yachty recently and that’s just making them more popular with their super overpriced stuff. i love retro gaming shit and trying to buy a ps2 nowadays sucks

The only reason I'd buy from DK Oldies is that I wouldn't want to roll the dice on a rare game like Ogre Battle 64. If it didn't work or looked like it was dropped in the toilet, I'd have more confidence in DK to replace the item than I would an ebay seller. I would just have to decide if the markup is worth that assurance. The QC problems are another thing. If a console is busted and not working, I'd feel better buying from DK since they will most likely replace it. An eBay seller might not be able to replace a broken console depending on the type of seller but you could just get a refund. idk. At the end of the day I think ebay is the way to go if you are aware of the risks.

I don’t mind paying a little more for supporting a business but I agree this is a pretty steep jump so it would be hard to get myself to justify paying what could easily go to one of my bills lol 😂 some of their smaller stuff seems fine just not the bigger consoles 🥲
