Hecate was associated with the magical art of necromancy because she was thought to have the power to govern the spirits of the dead. Hecate is a #goddess in Greek religion and mythology, most commonly represented with a pair of torches, a key, snakes, or hounds, and subsequently shown as three-formed or triple-bodied. Crossroads, entrances, darkness, light, magic, protection against witchcraft, the Moon, knowledge of herbs and toxic plants, cemeteries, ghosts, necromancy, and sorcery are all connected with her. Her first literary appearance was in Hesiod's Theogony in the eighth century BCE as a goddess of high honor having realms in the sky, earth, and sea. Scholars disagree on her origins, but she had a large following among the witches of Thessaly and a prominent sanctuary among the Carian Greeks of Asia Minor at Lagina.

Hecate's mother, Asteria was a badass who refused Zeus and Poseidon's advances, and even stood her ground against Hera, the queen of Olympus to protect Leto, her sister when she was about to give birth to Apollo and Artemis.

It's nice to see that Hecate also inherited her mother's nature of putting her foot down, even when faced by the most powerful of gods.

Hi i'm new subscriber here, can you do next of from a certain particular Goddess that she once had married a mortal man but the one who decidedly married her did a unforgivable thing like he was forcing her to do a horse race while she was pregnant because her own married mortal man forced her to do so etc., so on even though i know some of its origin story but sadly i don't know her name, which pantheon she was truly belonged to from the certain Goddess i was refering to, i hope this type of Goddess was really sounds familiar to you though and can you pls do next to this Goddess on a video!?
