Uccnc fast and accurate

This machine amazes me every time I run it. Originally it was on its way to the scrap yard as its original Bosch control was dead.
I wanted a bigger hobby machine in my garage. My challenge was to get this 7 tonne monster working as good as my commercial machines but using way less power- single phase 220v supply only !
Originally it had 380v 3 phase input at 65amp.
That's not an option in my home garage.
It's running 500 watt Mitsubishi servos on x and y axis geared 3:1
That seems to move its massive 2000kg gantry around pretty nicely (up to 25 m / minute Rapids)
Although if I make multiple full length runs with fast deceleration it s x servo does warn high regen volts ( luckily most machining doesn't use this technique)

I've also fitted a 2 stage vfd to run its 6.8 kW hsd spindle (atc)
To draw that sort of current you need to be using some seriously big tooling !
At present its only drawing approx 4 amps according to the vfd when cutting 18mm birch plywood at 10m / minute full depth with 12 mm cutter. I've had it up to 10 amp running a 50mm ball nose at 15mm depth at the same speed ( probably the largest tool il be swinging for hobby use)
i d seen some nice progress videos of uccnc software so i needed to try it for myself. i have to say its superb- and way ahead of mach3 in its trajectory planner. the parts shown being cut were done in constant velocity mode. (in mach 3 at this speed all sharp corners would be rounded etc - so to machine parts like this would have to be done in exact stop mode ) the very sharp corners shown which are very thin would have been chipped off by jerky acceleration in mach3.

Running nicely! can you tell me what tool you are using to cut this HPL laminated birch plywood? I understand it's a 12mm, but is it a coated carbide or something like that? 2 flute?
