I have always used the IRC VE33 and VE35 with great results and they are decently priced for the life of the tire.

I had the Desert ITs when I lived in Nevada. Kick ass tire I must say. Never had a flat and ran low pressure well.

I'm running the mx52 that came on my yz250 for winter riding, 1 1/4 inch stud in each lug on the front, braking on hard arena ice I can ride on the front wheel withers the rear in the air, rear gets 1 stud on side lugs and 2 on each in the center. Foot of snow on the lake and 4th gear wheelies and drift turns are a blast. Come spring, dunlop at81 F
And IRC ve33 gummy goin on the rear.

I love my Kenda Milleville 2. I have it on the rear and I wish they made it for the front of my 105

Personally I love the pirelli xc mid soft. As an all rounder. But m hearing good things about the motoz.
Have you guys ever put your tyre range on the scale ?
As I’m a little guy I try to cut weight where ever I can especially unsprung weight and rotating mass.
Hence I’d love the lightest tyres on my bike to pair with the tubliss system. Cheers

Best desert tire in your opinion. I kind of want some stickiness rather than the massively hard usual desert tires.

I’ve probably put about 30 hours on my dirt bike in the mountains (dirt and rock) and I bought it used with 18 hours on it. Is there a ball park for how long tires will last? I think mine look fairly spent but this is my first bike so I don’t know.

Also I have search and search for the weight of the Michelin Starcross 5 Intermediate terrain tire. Would you be able to give the weight.
Plus, it would be helpful to give actual weights of all tires to compare. Thanks.

The kenda Millville has been a pretty good back tire. Really predictable, good grip, and fairly cheap. Im running in florida fyi.

I keep trying different tires, but I go back to the at81. It just works everywhere and I have never had the chunking issues some complain about. Muddy to desert, it just works!

What would you recommend for a DOT approved tire that's appropriate for a lighter, road legal MX bike?
