Shop Our Top Pick Trials Dirt Bike Tires!

If you ride trails in the mountains or woods, you should definitely consider trying out a set of trials tires. They hook up where knobbies can’t. They really excel on difficult hill climbs and technical areas of the trails. When you’ve got trials tires installed on your bike, you’ll have the confidence to tackle obstacles that your buddies would never even think of trying. Another great thing about trials tires is that the tread pattern is relatively gentle on trails compared to knobbies. Some trials tires are also DOT approved, so there’s no problem if the course travels across public roads.

Great video. Do you have front tire recommendations to compliment these rear tires???

I have the Pirelli MT43 on my KTM500exc, Love it! 650miles on the bike and it still looks new! Great choice for all around riding, I also have the Pirelli MT43 on the front, happy with that too!

Love the equilibrium. Great for varying terrain and the wear is amazing.

Super glad I checked this out, would've tore up my soft tires just putting around on my new practice build otherwise.

My fav is the Shinko 525 cheater great grip everywhere including rocks and roots. Wears out faster than the 505 on hard pack, but worth it when you find a mud hole

Shinko has been a great single track tire for me and my 2 son. 540, 546, 505, 525 all excellent, no surprise since they use the old school Yokohama tire tooling!

Good review. I would add that the mt 43 is absolutely the best DS tire. I would also add that all of these tires greatly benefit from tublis and way low psi.

Bought the Shinko 505 Cheater. Gotta say its given me more confidence. It chews threw mud like it was nothing.

For riding in mud I recommend having a really aggressive knobby tire with the treads as far apart as you can find. I want to try a sand paddle or a sand MX tyre in mud, but I haven't got round to it yet. That's my recommendation for thick mud or clay and bogs.

Thanks for the video! I recently purchased the cheater tire with tubliss and I'm in love with the bike all over again! What an amazing combo. Awesome value as well for the tire! Rocky mountain never ceases to amaze.

It'd be really rad if you guys imported the Shinko 525X. However, for now, I'll stick with my Shinko R505 Hybrid.

Put the names of the tires on the screen not just the size, if I hear the name ill forget it, but if I see it printed it's easy to recall.

My choice is the shinko or the ibex i love trials tires but i can also ride aggressively with the hybrid still grips in the hard stuff and i can still corner and stuff when i like to ride hard and fast its perfect for me

I'm running Kenda Trac Master 110/90/19 ( K-760) on the back and it's way skinny. Is the Equilibrium "meatier"? BTW, thanks to RM for sending $20 RM Cash last week, guess where it's going?

My friend and I are having a bit of a long term showdown for two tires.  He is running the Kenda Equilibrium you showed, and I have been running the Goldentire 216X Gummy.  The Kenda seems to be able to perform at the save level for a much lower price point.  Also, the Kenda is not worn down as much over the same distances.

You didn't mention the Tusk Recon Gummy in this group. Why not?

Thanks for the info, I recently rode a KTM Freeride 250 with a trials tire on some single track and it felt amazing. Do you have a tire recommendation for Moab? (Maybe a good topic for a video)
