What Happens When You Skip The Final Shape Campaign?

Just going over what happens when you choose to skip the final shape campaign on one of your characters.

1960 gear is only for completing the legendary campaign, it's always been like that. The skip completes the normal campaign therefore no gear.

It’s similar to how it worked in previous years. For TWQ and LF, the weapons would boost your average power on other characters, but because the armour on character 1 didn’t impact character 2 or 3, you’d hit the soft cap. This way, you could do legendary on one character and just do normal on the other two.

This time round, your weapons and armour from character one help the others. So, do the legendary campaign on one character, then do the normal version on the other two, and you’ll be about ~5 light levels off.

Ideally do the legendary on one, then max out the powerful and then pinnacle before doing the next so your second character is within ~5 but still has the powerful and pinnacle outstanding.

Remember power level is shared now so if you did it on one character aka legendary all of the gear you get on your new character will drop at 1960+ so just buy blues or even powerful/pull out of your collection.

The peak power reached is now shared between characters, to get 1960 stuff you just need to get some powerfull engrams/drops on your alts and they will be already at the power reached on your titan (assuming that you got the 1960 kit from legend completition on your 1st character)

I also thought you're supposed to get a full set of 1960 blue gear like you said but I guess it doesn't matter since power is shared account wide.

definitely worth the purchase after I beat legendary on titan. It really is just time management. I don't want to have to spend another 8ish hours going through all the campaign again. There's simply WAY too much stuff to do AFTER the campaign, let alone the "farm" for exotic class items.

If your main is high enough, go to Ada-1 and purchase a set of gear to infuse. I was able to purchase a full set of 1975 gear for my warlock when I skipped him. I still can't figure out how to unlock the rest of the abilities though... mainly the grenade, melee and two other aspects.

When I did this on my hunter, I never got to choose an exotic, in fact the exotic I was given was....

Young Ahamkara's Spine.

Worth it yes. That legendary shit is too much. Paid for hunter. Just did missions for fragments, melees and super. Already had all the aspects. Pretty fun.

Skipping also doesn't give you other supers and aspects that are locked for the doing side quests

Doing the final mission didn’t give you the 1960 gear because it’s a reward for completing all the missions on legendary, not just the final mission.

I’ve been F2P ever since I started playing I played during the beta and I bought the final shape cause it was on sale and I actually like the dlc I haven’t beat it cause I bought it a day ago but prismatic is a fun subclass I do like the strand subclass cause I feel like Spider-Man but prismatic I can have mutiple subclasses basically so fun lol

I did the skip on my hunter and dont have all the melees, and dont have the supers, just did ascent and got the arc super... Still dont have silkstrike, or shadowshot. How do you get those now?....

PSA: just redid all the stuff foe Guardian rank 7 and discovered that to reach rank 8 again, you need to do the FS campaign. This apparently is NOT retroactive. Hopefully, this is an oversight that Bungie will correct in the near future. This also unlocks 2 more loadout slots. So if you play thru the legend campaign and then try to skip it on the other two, you may permalock yourself at rank 6 depending if running the final mission counts towards completing the campaign or not.
