I have motif XS and I bought the montage 3 months ago, I am very pleased. Both keyboards on the dual rack and performance both combined is mind blowing.

Just bought a used one for $2100 US...., I checked it out at the store, and if you get under the sheets this thing is a monster. You have to be willing to create your own performances, scenes, arps, and Super Knob settings... but for live jamming will be amazing in my opinion. The interface to cubase, external audio, new motion sequencer(lfo gone mad), effects, user arps, all seem very manageable... not a workstation... but having all the new FM, plus the Analog modeling sounds amazing... along with everything else... (on good Cant wait. In about a week Ill have mine.

This synth has one truly amazing feature: the LEDs around assignable param knobs showing the current value. Any synth with presets should have this. The only other ones I'm aware of are the Nord Lead 3 and Korg R3.

I bought Yamaha Motif XF in 2015, about half a year before Montage was released. Must say that i then really regretted that i did't wait for Montage released, and long time considered to purchase Montage over my Motif XF, and finally did it, and haven't regretted. Motif XF ain't bad synth either, but this Montage is such superb, one of the best synths ever, if not even the best, with its FM-engine capable to create vast variety such amazing sounds you just simply cannot get out from a rompler/ subtractive synthesis. The only thing i'm missing of the Motif XF is open sampling and pattern sequence.
