Im more than happy with the 13600k, got it a month ago to replace my aging 8700k, seems very efficient to me, was able to set to Lite Load 1 on a Msi Z690 Carbon Motherboard and its just air cooled with BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 (2 fans) set to around 1000rpm which isnt loud but offers better cooling to keep it under 70c

12700K uses slightly more power but runs a bit cooler. Interesting.

My 13600k is undervolted (-0.08 offset vcore) and running @ 5.3ghz. At COD warzone I have 180 fps avg. This i5 is absolutely a beast

This comparison suggests that don't spend too much on every generation of CPUs and always go for budget options like 12400(always grab them when these processors are on sale) and sell out the old one after 2-4 years and upgrade to a newer mid range CPU. End of story...

Those 1% and .1% low gains are really impressive in some titles. 15 vs 30fps in Harry Potter for example. 13600k seems to have alot less stuttering based on these numbers. Sure the average FPS isn't much, but you don't feel that nearly as much as you do 1% and .1% low stutters

I kinda still would prefer 8pcores to 6pcores. It sounds more future proof and the i5s slightly higher avg fps is just to minor of a benefit. The pattern on %lows seems to be the same on both cpus aswell.

Total L2 cache makes the most difference. Both CPUs have almost the same L3 cache but 13600K has almost double the L2 cache of 12700K. Bigger L2 cache, higher clocks on both P cores and E cores and additional four E cores all work together to make 13600K on par or even better than the 12700K despite 13600K having two less P cores.

Please turn on Ray Tracing, it has a HUGE IMPACT on CPU. Maybe people think that RT is GPU bound. But when turn on RT, my 12600K usage go up like 30% lol

That i5 has higher clocks on the E and P cores. The i7 seems to have slightly lower temps. With a slight overclock on the i7 it would probably bring them neck and neck or even slightly ahead.

13th gen also has better memory controller and can push ram further

You can get i7-12700k's second hand for 200-250€, great deal if the retailers are asking 300-350€ for i5-13600k and you might have an older chipset

Now 13700K have the same perfomance as 12900K, for me that's really good.
And BETTER IMC for RAM OC in DDR4 and DDR5

im about to upgrade from a 3770k and 16gb of ddr3 ram to a 12700kf and 16gb of ddr4 ram, for a mere 395 bucks, id say its going to be worthwhile.

12700KF is $189 on Amazon today. Wild deal.

In my opinion, intel core i7 12 generation is better, i5 13 generation has lag problems in some games, if you are aware, intel core i5 13 generation core is 600, but i7 12 generation is 700.

I like the 12700K more, stays cooler.

i7 12700k costs $224 vs i5 13600k costs $300

For this little difference Im getting the i7 and save $80

I’m still going with the i7 since it’s saves me buying a £100 cpu cooler and cheaper 12gen mobo which will work without dodgy bios updates
