that tip of the vid is really funny I can just imagine someone packing their group's backpacks like a mom packing her children's lunchboxes

For kitchens, your best bet is a u shape I have found. A 3x3 or 3x4 of cupboards keeps things close at hand for putting together recipes when cooking. But one of the best thing I have found is the hanging cupboard's from the trailer park homes.
If you have both a floor cupboard AND the hanging cupboard together on one wall that's 100 default storage space in one spot (130 if you have the organised trait)
I favour the 2tile fridges and ice cream freezers from the mini-marts and gas stations and try to grab at least one of each for a full time base kitchen. (Because I can separate fruit and veg into the two sides of the fizzy drink fridge, and store meats in the small freezer compartments. And the ice box fills up with scavenged fresh food, if I am fast enough, and cooked items from me cooking things before they rot then storing them)
I have a couple of food mods, one that adds ramen (packet and multi pack) and one that adds sweets, drinks and crisps (chips to you Americans lol) so I also grab one each of the vending machines to store them in near the exit for quick snacks. I like to grab the bread display units from the food marts and fill that with my ramen (they look like a bakery stand full of breads, but the ramen don't rot so I get both storage and the looks lol)

Granted, this is single player, but the tips would work well for multiplayer (especially for faction bases, imagine building a cafeteria and making it look real, while being efficient too)

spoons are not useless, if you have on the inventory your character uses it when it eats soups, stews, stuff made in bowls and canned food, it makes you eat a little faster.

Here's another tip: download Managed Containers mod, and have wooden (upgrade to metal) crates by your front door as dump chests (12 is ideal) and when they get overstocked, move them to the organized rooms.

This is seriously one of my favourite youtube channels right now lmao

If I ever end up not playing this game, I think I would continue watching you since you have a kind of ShadowFrax Rust vibe to me... but way more helpful and without all the unecessary comedian stuff

Not sure anyone else does this, but i like sledge-destroying most interior walls, to have a clear view of the entire floor and access to all the parts of my base.
This will even include the garage, if the base is not exclusively upper floor.
Not only opening and closing doors gets very tedious, but doors are generally dangerous when paired up with zombs.

My general choice for a base is usually 2 story buildings. Either small 2 story house that lets me fully fortify the first floor for defense and long term storage while making the entire second floor my home base with all the short term storage, or a large 2 story building like apartment complexes, wearhouses, the school on riverside, the fire department in rosewood, and the strip pub in Louisville where I can pretty much just live on the second floor without need of the first. Even though it’s exponentially more work it does incentivize me to increase some of the less needed perks, and it allows me to do a lot of decorating and planning.

I actually thought everyone plays like this, since organization is efficiency. I do the usual "pile everything on the ground" method for a good while and then I use specific containers like a bunch of toolboxes and medical kits to organize them and decorate by placing the items. For weapons I also just place them, leaving most storage for specific materials like metalworking stuff or firewood.

I set my base in Big Al's auto shop in Riverside since shes a mechanic. Incredibly strategic location. Got a trailer park, gas station, storage unit and factory within walking distance also low zombie count

Great video, just stumbled upon it. I also like to add that if there is a Trailer Park nearby, I recommend going there and stealing some floating cabinets. They mount to the ceiling and they can hold 50 weight units per cabinet. Very good for organizing a big stockpile of food if you go raid the nearby Grocery store(s)

I personally settled my long-term base a little outside rosewood, next to the Trailer Park and Warehouses at the storage units to the south. So I ended up getting all of the materials for my kitchen there, including the floating cabinets from the trailer homes. (And of course when I finally brought an oven over, the power went out a couple days later) The one thing that been very elusive for me is finding a Sledgehammer. I've been looking all over Riverside and still no luck finding one. Until then, each one of my storage units serves a purpose: One for sleeping, one for the kitchen, one for the armory/tailoring, one as the defacto "tool shed", one for general storage, and one where I store a ton of logs for Winter. I'm now in late November surviving there and I'm hoping to survive my first year! Fingers crossed.

Love your vids! Would love to see more playthroughs so I can see your decision making in real time.

Funniest thing is, I didn't gain anything from this video because we effectively do the same exact ideas.
Just minus the breaking furniture thing. Good video though, I think these ideas are useful to be shared!

That's what I do as well. When I play with my friend he says why do I bother so much to seperate all the items but as he played with me he noticed that this way it is much more easy to find what you need and became like me lol.

Bins have a "Delete All" option, saves carrying a sack outside unless you really want to RP it.

Can you make a video for optimal outfits for winter and summer.. Like what gives the best protection while still being appropriate for the weather.(bonus points if it looks sick)

I like cramping everything into 1-2 rooms, like very dense storage tightly packed but organized

Good video! But I often prefer to live in multi-storey warehouses like warehouse in on the outskirts of Muldraugh. I know there aren't some crucial items, but I like it anyway. I can disassemble half of the crates there for my carpentry level and the other just relocate. Also i can make minifarm on the roof where no zombies will spoil my garden beds.

Much more sorted than me lol! I just toss all my books onto the same shelf and fill as many up as I have!
