""On the outside I was an honest man straight as an arrow, I had to come to prison to be a crook""
One of the very best lines ever in cinema.

If Norton had done the bare minimum to help Andy prove his innocence, even just getting him a meeting with a lawyer or detective or making a phone call or two, Andy would have keep supporting him. Norton's refusal to be kind to a man who was making him rich led to his downfall

I've always loved how the Warden looks over his shoulder in a quick and subtle manner. A good way to show his paranoid nature without being too obvious about it.

I never could believe Andy would tell Red this secret he had over the Warden. It shows just how much he trusts his friend.

Throughout the scene with the Warden, Andy is meek and submissive, like a dog doing his best not to be beaten by his master.
But as he explains his con to Red, he has a very subtle smile at the beginning which broadens to a wide grin by the end. The defensiveness is gone and he can be himself again. I love that transition and it contributes to what a great actor Tim Robbins is.

Andy was never trying to figure out warden Norton’s safe combination. He was timing him to see how long of a window he would have to switch the books while the warden wasn’t looking.

“I had to come to prison to be a crook.”

Fun fact: Despite being widely considered as one of the greatest movies of all time, it didn't receive a single Oscar win, though it was nominated for seven, including Best Picture.

I just love it when Red's laugh cracks and he looks over his shoulder telling us just how much he loved that joke

"You know the funny thing is, on the outside, I was an honest man, straight as an arrow. I had to come to prison to be crook"

That hearty laugh from Morgan Freeman at the end always puts a smile on my face.

At least Warden was kind enough to let Andy have the rest of the pie

"On the outside I was an honest person, straight as an arrow. I had to come to prison to become a crook!" - I love that line!!

one of the best exchanges of the movie, alongside red's narration of how Andy escaped, and the note and he left behind for the warden to let him know the jig was up "salvation lies within"

The real hero is Stephen King for writing this great story ...

Acting is so good, this movie is far better than it has a right to be.

"You are a Rembrandt"
Nothing more classic than hearing Morgan say that.

Throws his hands in the air, “you can’t just make a person up” this acting is so good😭💀

The look on the wardens face when he first sees the tunnel Andy dug in his prison cell is LEGENDARY. Not to mention the wardens look when he opens the shoe box and sees Andy’s shoes in there instead of his own shiny shoes. HAHAHAHAHA

"On the outside I was an honest man, I had to come to prison to be a crook", every word in Shawshank Redemption is worth its weight in gold!
