I swear, every actor in the film played their part perfect. What made this movie so amazing for us.

One of the few times the Warden seemed reasonable.

Kindly make space for the following pieces of information in your memory banks:
1. When the prison warden found the Bible where Andy had hidden the rock hammer, it was in the book of Exodus. Exodus is a Greek word meaning "departure."
2. Red describes Andy's dream as "shitty pipe dreams". During his escape to live that dream, Andy crawls through a pipe filled with raw sewage.
3. If Andy had been incarcerated in just one cell to the left he would have had nowhere to tunnel to except the next cell, and thus would have had no amazing story to tell.
4. The three times Red meets the parole board he is told "Sit", "Sit down", and lastly "Please sit down".
5. Although it is never directly stated in the film, Brooks is in prison for allegedly murdering his wife and daughter after a losing streak at poker.
6. Despite being widely considered as one of the greatest movies of all time, it didn't receive a single Oscar win, though it was nominated for seven, including Best Picture.
7. The last word spoken in the movie is "hope", a major theme of the film.

Write a letter a week. Thing is, if you're an innocent educated man in prison, what else could you do with your time... Apart from digging a hole of course!

The Warden actually being helpful. He did have redeeming qualities, but unfortunately was too much of a hypocrite to deal with the most glaring issue of all - Greed. If not for that part I believe he could have made even Shawshank into a prison of reformation and improvement.

When I first watched that movie, W2's and 1040's were meaningless fore me, I am not American, but I went living in California for three years and of course, I had to fill tax returns. I watched that movie again few years later and I smiled when I heard Red and Andy mentioning those 😀, then, I knew what they were.

I used to work construction and roofing which alright but I changed it up and started working in tech.

The work in technology is absolutely more focused on remembering a lot of information but it is not as physically demanding as roofing.

It’s arguably an “easier” job because there are days where I don’t have much to do and I can monitor my inbox from my couch while playing Fortnite or watching Seinfeld reruns.

This movie was so pleasant because it depicted prison life pre WW2. The prison was more high trust than open society in 2023.

The Warden kinda seemed like a good guy until he changed his glasses at least.

If one sends a letter every week pleading the same case, how is it not the same letter over and over again?

Richie Aprile seems like a nice guy in this scene - I wonder how he will do when he gets out?

Yo Richie Aprile ended up in the can for selling cocaine on those garbage routes after all.
