As Dr Campbell says—eat the whole flax seed, not the oil!

For me the following is what matters; Dr Esselstyn has shown that NO OIL is the only way to go!!!

Everyone knows processed foods are not the healthiest food to consume. Seed oils are processed and it’s best to avoid them.

I follow Dr. Greger's advice and don't use any oils anymore. I get fat in my diet from nuts, beans and the occasional avocado.
Dr. Barnard always says no or very low oils.

Yes, and what about Dr. Esselstyn’s heart study?

“The science” says a lot of things. Things that change from day today from fad to fad. I’d rather trust in the wisdom of the ages when it comes to something as important as health.

I'm pretty sure that the popular hate of seed oils is due to the chemical hexane that is used to extract the oil. This is a pretty harmful chemical. I still do use seed oil, but I keep this in mind. It's absolutely stunning that this isn't even addressed.

Thank you. Yet, interestingly, I don't use oil at home, but when I eat a vegan dish in a restaurant or someone's home that is prepared with oil, I ALWAYS get joint inflammation where I have osteoarthritis. Listen to your body.

A few contradictions here I think. Seed oils, from my understanding are dangerous to our health. I wonder what Dr Esselstein and Dr Baptiste would say about this discussion 🤷🏾‍♀️

Dr. Barnard advises reducing oil in your diet as low as possible.

Personally I’ll used small amounts of olive oil but tend to go oil free most of the time.

I Wonder what Dr. Barnard would say to that. Can you have him make a statement?

Think about it. If any plant, seed oil was healthy they would have the data on every tv, radio, or internet ad. Every fast food chain, and grower would pay millions for studies saying they are using "good oil, fats" for cooking.

No body drink seed oil by itself. The problem is that seed oil are in a lot of processed foods like cakes, breads, cookies, fried rice, noodles etc...

My understanding was the ratio of omega 3 to 6 made the difference, but that was from a book a long time ago.

Thank you for this clarification- makes me very happy! Some people have a hard time keeping weight on with a whole food diet (myself included) and a little oil helps with this!

I eat vegan and mostly WFPB. Glad to hear that just adding a little bit of oil to my cooking is not the end of the world. Also, Roxie is a fun host! Great episode.

Seeds Oils in moderation and with an otherwise Wholefood diet are not a problem, I use about 1-2 Teaspoons of Sunflower Oil a week the rest of my diet is supremely healthy no animal harmed, and no noticeable harm to me according to blood pressure and nutrient count or BMI.

So very helpful information. Thank you Dr. Becker! I consume nut butter regularly. I was very curious about the information I’ve heard about seed oils, prior to now. I didn’t buy into it (very long😁). I’m vegan. I exercise. My body seemed to be good with it. Btw. Great show! You both make it very entertaining. Look forward to seeing more episodes. ❤
