Rabbit Dream Chaser First Run Review | The apparel brand launches its first running shoe

The Dream Chaser is the first running shoe from kit brand Rabbit. Designed for daily training miles, it’s a shoe focused on comfort, featuring a stretchy upper designed to be soft and breathable, and a Flowstate Foam ETPU midsole that offers a good level of cushioning.

In addition to that midsole, there’s also a contoured Blumaka insole to increase the softness and improve energy return, as well as two carbon fibre strips that sit on the midsection of the outsole that aims to increase stability and performance.

Tom got hold of the shoe when he was out in Boston and has taken it out on a couple of runs to get some early thoughts.

I also have the shoes and although very comfortable to wear, I can’t use them because the “clicking” noise from the plates is too irritating to hear every step. That’s too bad because otherwise I love the shoe. Thanks for your review.

Love rabbit kit, but I can’t get over how this looks like an allbirds

Honestly this feels more like a sports fashion show masquerading as a dedicated running shoe. Probably decent if you're heading to the gym or yoga class but I doubt that outside of the brand conscious crowd that want a rabbit on their shoe we'll see many of these on the feet of serious hobbyist runners

I buy Rabbit clothes and they've been spamming me every other day with this shoe. My primary shoe requirement is that they be available in 4E or 6E.

Is the upper breathable? Because it looks like a sweater.

I don’t like the look of those carbon strips. The first time you step on a rock surely they will snap in half!

I dont know why they would travel into the shoe realm.., are they going to be able to outbid other companies, for the best foams ? or end up having to fend of other smaller companies for subpar foams (when compared to the bigger companies). I just dont see it now. Maybe they make some head way in about 3-5 years in the shoe space.

has anyone talked about the Eliot lately ..nah.., and yet tracksmith is coming out with a racer, in a somewhat crowded market. well thats just my two cents.., not that anyone is listening. best of luck to them..

I had the same experience with the 1080 v11, heel slip which irritated my achilles. They were retired from running after 100 miles. I'd never buy the 1080 or indeed NB again. The carbon strips are different but prone to damage i imagine.
