First Run Rabbit Dream Chaser

(note: I’m currently in the taper for London Marathon, so these thoughts are very preliminary and I’ll need more runs to firm up these very early thoughts)

I put in a lucky 7 miles in the first shoe from Rabbit. The Dream Chaser is so different than what I was expecting (I was expecting something very Hovr-like).

With a tall etpu midsole and carbon fiber rails along the bottom, this shoe is part Nimbus and part Oofos. Or, it’s like the max cushion shoe Atreyu would have made if Atreyu ever made max cushion shoes. But at the same time, the chunky heel and abrupt drop under the arch also reminds me of a Brooks Ghost, although the dream chaser is much much spongier.

The upper fits true to size for me, although those of you with smaller heels might find a bit too much play in the heel cup. As big as the bumper pads are in this shoe, they might have needed to be a smidge bigger.

The materials chosen for the upper are quite nice, as you would expect from an apparel brand. It feels like a running sock with compression in the arch. It’s a pleasant little hug that makes it feel nice for all day wear. And so far, this shoe is looking to be a great shoe for super chill days.
