Honestly i think it shows weakness in sidious if you think about it. The sith are all about dominating an opponent completely with their strength. Sidious couldn’t do that so he had to kill him indirectly and then only when he got him weak by getting him extremely drunk. This shows honestly he feared his master and plagueis is clearly the superior sith lord

It feels like Plaguies was working on truly unlocking the secrets and powers of the dark side and the force, like if he was able to go on unimpeded that he could've achieved something that far surpassed Sidious. Just thinking to myself here, I read his novel and he's a fascinating character.

Darth Plaguies actually did know about Sidious plan to use the nuclear weapon. In the same novel, Plaguies told IBC worker, Silfer that was at Prison that Maul is trying to get a destructive weapon and that even though maul was unaware of its purpose Plaguies felt that it was a direct threat to his personal safety. Plaguies knew Sidious was not being honest from the beginning and throughout the novel would drop hints to Sidious that at times would make him question if Plaguies knew. It was actually a cat a mouse game and Jabba just confirm what Plaguies felt about Sidious real motives since Sidious claim he sent maul to the prison to kill the arms dealer radik.

The first time around, Sidious took a shot at Plaguies and missed because he didn't foresee Jaba the Hut interfering. However, the more direct and personal approach was more ideal. This way nothing could go wrong and it would be more like a Sith to kill his master with his own hand.

I read Maul: Lockdown and loved it. I highly recommend anyone who would be interested to read the novel, it’s also very gory, and has some rough language in it so it’s definitely not a kids book. But that didn’t bother me I absolutely loved the story, and the side characters. Seeing characters like Jabba, Darth Plaguies and Komari Vosa in the book was very interesting.

It's the fact Sidious knew, he only had achieved half of what Plagueis was capable of as a human against a Muun Sith who had 100+ years on Sidious as a Sith, when Palapatine started...

Because we know losing limbs can decrease someone's potential in the force so is it safe to reason that episode two anakin lost some of his potential that early on. If I have said it once I have said it a zillion times, that book is amazing and tells all the amazing background of my favorite Sith Lord. And you know who did you know what and destroyed all the greatest source material, I get it disney wanted to do their own thing and bring in new viewers. There should have been a way to help out all fans, what that way is….. no idea 🤷‍♂️. And I wished I had a better idea for it but I don’t, so I complain like most and still can’t fix it. well

Anakin may have had the highest midichlorian count in the star wars universe but Palpatine had the highest IQ. Therefore it did not matter how powerful you were Palpatine always succeed in his goals, using everyone around him as pawns, even the jedi.

Honestly I find his death a bit contrived. People on the dark side would be naturally paranoid, especially with the whole master and apprentice deal. So him getting drunk seems a bit far fetched as he'd never want to show weakness to his apprentice.
