USDA THE GREAT NUTRITION DEBATE RE:
Показать описание
Bananiac's response video to "The Great Nutrition Debate" that was sponsored by the USDA back in February 24, 2000. The debate features speakers (from left to right) such as Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Robert Atkins, Dr. Barry Sears, Dr. Denise E. Bruner, Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr.Morrison C. Bethea, Dr. Keith T. Ayoob, and a small presentation by Dr. Eric Westman.
I thought the debate was very spirited and entertaining but did not find the low-carb argument very convincing or backed up with scientific evidence published in peer-reviewed journals. Their point that carbs cause too much insulin to be produce is hypocritical since animal based foods cause an even HIGHER production of the hormone to be produced. Eating lots of cholesterol and saturated fat AKA meat and dairy has been shown to cause heart disease. Research is ALSO showing that eating a plant-based diet can PREVENT & REVERSE heart disease even in it's later stages. One thing most people can agree with is eating less processed carbs and more fruits and vegetables ;)

The three fundamentals for sustaining a long and healthy life is getting enough water, sugar, and sleep DAILY! Once that is established, getting some sunshine and sport during the week will make you go even further. A plant-based diet consisting of at least 80% of calories from carbohydrates will give you the edge you need to reach your potential. Go Vegan; for the people, for the animals, for the planet.
