Awesome! After jacking up my ride, crawling all over underneath ( no creeper and I’m 74 ), pulling air cleaner box, checking engine compartment. I pulled the purge did your test and am on the way to the parts store. THANKS

This is only the case If the valve is stuck open. If it's stuck closed it would pass this test even if it's bad

My brother, I watched 3 videos prior to yours and was unsure. I watched your video and a light bulb went off in my head…. Thank you for simplifying it for me.

Seriously, I get my brakes done and they try to sell me a serpentine belt… I say, I just replaced the alternator a month ago, had that belt in my very own hand and it was fine (gulp, um, uh); so I go get my oil changed and they try to tell me I need a brake line flush and a rear diff service… I say, I just made them flush and bleed the brakes a month ago when I had the front brakes completely redone and my rear diff went bad within the past few years, which was a rather pricey repair as I recall (gulp, um, uh)… so today my check engine light comes on and I am daydreaming of someone trying to tell me something totally retarded and offering to replace my cracked floor mats because that can cause climate issues, so how do I stop this madness? I come here, and like the video and add a new sub to your channel with a crap ton of gratitude.

Just watched a video of a dude basically giving the damn history of cars and purge valves. I got lost, he never really explained anything except how to confuse the viewer. This video, to-the-point. Thank you! Gonna save me shit load time.

What if your purge valve has two ports and not one? Is it the same. Does it matter which one you blow into?

I was able to blow through both the old and the new Evap purge solenoid ……Check your vacuum lines that connects to them they could have came disconnected like the one on mine. I disconnected the battery and reconnected the vacuum line that connects the evap purge solenoid to the intake and reconnected the battery and the engine light went off and never came back on because of that vacuum line being disconnected and I’m gonna return the new evap purge solenoid to the auto parts place

Must just be for that kind. I blew air thru mine. Bought a new and blew air right thru it too.

If I can feel the pulses of vacuum when I compress the hose connected to it while the car is running, and then disconnect the electrical connector and still feel the vacuum, will that confirm that it's stuck open?
