How To Check For A Water Leak In Your House-EASIEST Method

In this video, I show you how to check for a water leak in your house. All that you need to do is check your water meter. There should be a small triangle on your water meter; the triangle spins when the water is running on one of your faucets or appliances. If you shut off all of the appliances that use water, and check your water meter, you will be able to tell if there is a water leak in your house. If the triangle is spinning and you have shut all of the faucets/appliances off, then you have a water leak! Even if there isn't a triangle on your water meter, there will likely be a similar type of symbol/indicator that will allow you to know that something in your house is using water!

Dude good video. If you dont have a "triangle" then you can just see if the meter numbers move up while you have all the water faucets and appliances shut off in your home.

We need to know more specifically how to search for a leak apart from looking at the meter. What are some places to look...Toilet, washer, dishwasher, water heater, etc. What about a slab leak?

Hello and Thank you so much for this awesome video. I subscribed to your channel. I was noticing an odor from my home office and i lifted up my rug and noticed it has water stains on the area rug and it appears some of the laminate flooring is very slightly uneven, in the center of my room but it is a very small section. This room and possible water coming in may be from my plumbing area where i connect my water hose to. That plumbing is just on the other side of the wall, which is where i suspect leak is coming from. I will check the meter tomorrow it is dark out now. So i am very confused if my pipes are in my walls or under the slab. We have so much debt and fat mortgage the last thing we need is another PLUS, it is difficult to find an honest plumber in our neck of the woods. I read something about if the pipes are ran through walls then there is not need to worry about a slab leak because if plumbing runs through walls then there is no need to worry about a slab leak (sorry if i am being redundant in my explanation) I am so perplexed and concerned. We had quite a bit of rain few days ago i don't know if that may have been it but i have noticed some dampness in that area in the past, but i ignored it because didn't think much of it. But i am wondering if when i water my garden daily if that pipe is somehow leaking into the room which is on the same wall location area, if that makes sense. Hey, I did all your steps . My meter isn’t showing any leaks. But I have a small leak in my wall but I can’t figure out how I am getting the water. I am stumped with this leak.
I was wondering if it could be a spring water under my pavement. I had my toilet checked. No leaks.

I do not need to look at the meter, to tell me that I have a water leak. I can hear it running, and have a puddle in the flat below me.

I need to find where the water pipe is, and I have narrowed it down to the hot water pipes.
