Most of them have the center of gravity above the means of propulsion. That makes them unstable and unsafe to fly.

The problem with "consumer ready" is liability. American (in particular) courts facilitate litigation in the most ridiculous circumstances. Aircraft kit suppliers have been bankrupted by lawsuits even when the customer modified the craft.

Air Wolf components could be incorporated in a back yard lawn chair kite shaped like a stealth microjet, boyancy compensated, and with additional jet pack thrusters. VTOL to a possible Mach one level and parked on every driveway in suburbia. To work, in three minutes over an hour late!

Cool stuff! However, I think the reliance on battery technology is a mistake. You just can't get the range with battery technology as it is today. The hybrid one was probably more practical. I'm sure there are low range applications for battery operated vehicles, but, if you want something to take you further, you're out of luck.. I mean, I'm sorry, I like gadgetry, but, in the end, I'm not going to shell out a bunch of money for a novelty. I think the world could use something like these machines, but, they've got to be practical, otherwise, it will always remain in the realm of the dreamers.
