Not related to the video but I needed the mamahs to know that the ambassador of Mexico is here in New Zealand (Aotearoa) passing on condolences as we celebrate the life of the Maori king. His pronunciation of Maori words was spot on & he was very respectful. I hope knowing this has made the people of Mexico proud! Much love to the mamahs ❤

I'm alright with canned refried beans if they're in the background, but if they're a prominent part of the dish it's a hard pass. They have to make the beans acidic to preserve them during the canning process. They taste completely different from freshly-made refried beans. Plus a lot of the canned products don't use lard. Rosarita, for example, uses apple cider vinegar to lower the pH. Would you ever put apple cider vinegar in your homemade beans? And for fat they use coconut oil and sunflower oil, which is great if you're serving vegetarians. There's also rice fiber in it. Don't know what that's about.
