For jewelry storage, I recommend getting storage boxes from a craft store (I’ve been crafting for years!). The main areas to look for compartmented craft boxes are in jewelry making and embroidery because those crafts need boxes to store beads and findings, thread, etc. The boxes are pretty flat and stackable, and the compartments will keep each item separate so they don’t bump into each other and break or chip. The boxes are also translucent so you can easily spot what you’re looking for.

I have several boxes with a lot of stationary compartments, but I also have some boxes where you can move the dividers to accommodate different sized objects. The dividers in the boxes I have are also treated to prevent jewelry from tarnishing, so bonus!

When I got started on piercings and stretching last year, I got a small craft tool box to hold some jewelry and also tools like calipers. (And I started watching Gretchen’s videos—very helpful!❤️) I’m close to having everything I want now, so I’ve moved jewelry out of it and a few more tools and things in.

My house is a mess, but all of my plugs and hangers and stuff are very well organized!😊

Advice for those new to tattoos. I don’t have any tats myself for a number of reasons, so I have to admire everyone else’s tats! The best thing that will also help to gain respect of the artists is *not* to just show up and get some random flash art but to go in with some ideas. *Research* online, look at tattoo magazines, think about your favorite things. Go in with ideas that you can discuss with your artist, even have a few examples to show so you can communicate well what you’re after. Look through the artist’s portfolio too because you might find some of their ideas appealing and maybe even get some new ideas. Tattoo artists are *artists*, and their work should be respected as much as any art in other media.

A friend really, really wanted a dolphin tat. She’s *very* into dolphins! She researched for several years until she found some examples of the style of tat that she wanted, and then she checked out several artists until she found one that could do the style she wanted. The tat she got is beautiful and so very much her!

The best part of this approach is that you get something that you will love long term instead of something you might want to cover later!

When I got my hands done, the sessions themselves weren't bad. 30ish minutes, moderately annoying. The swelling for the few days after wasn't fun, but worth it. And advice to anyone considering- only get job stopper tattoos if you're okay with potential consequences. Some employers still care.

I stretched my lobes pretty consistently for a few years, making it to 1 1/4", and that's where I've been for 10 years at this point. Big enough to look good, small enough to still be able to get pretty jewelry without needing to hunt it down or pay super high prices for a single pair.

Getting married soon too! It's why I got a helix piercing now vs later, so I don't have a red/swollen ear because of a fresh piercing.

For the person asking about femme body piercings, I highly recommend watching the video by Lynn Loheide titled "Genital Piercings & Gender Affirmation for Trans and Nonbinary Folks". They are a non-binary professional body piercer with a ton of educational content, and this video in particular takes a deep dive into that topic.

I stretched to 9/16th's/14mm because I don't like that theirs different sizes of 1/2" (12.0, 12.7, 13mm) seems like a confusing size to be at! 14mm seems like the perfect size! You're right I decided I don't care about them closing up, and made the decision to stretch up and i'm glad! Q/A: Where can I buy the highest quality silicone tunnels/plugs? What is the place to get the highest quality tunnels/plugs?

Just had a double mid helix and a regular helix done together on same side and strangely the middle one is causing issues and either side are not having an issue!!!! I can’t work out why

I got my lip pierced in February this year and it healed nicely but I changed it to a hoop two months ago and it started to get irritated and it hurt. It still hurts and the inside of my lip has hard tissue around the hole. Should I changed it back to the stud? Is it possible to wear a hoop once it’s completely healed

How long does it take until the initial swelling goes down for a tragus piercing? It was pierced 3 weeks ago and it's still as swollen as it was after it was pierced. And why is it soooo itchy? Got my conch pierced at that same appointment and that one doesn't itch as bad as my tragus.
