There is no reason to take that piercing out. They got the hair out and the site shows no sign of infection. In fact it looks completely healed. It does look like it needs cleaning though.

You don’t want to take it out, cartilage piercing can grow really quickly, trapping any infection inside. She’d want to get a labret style jewelry to hold the place just a little bigger, to accommodate for swelling so it can drain the infection. Had lots of experience with cartilage piercings, with 20+ in the ears. In my opinion, tastefully done, wearing small jewelry.

A higher risk of infection if it's not being taken care of properly. So many ppl get piercings and don't clean them as they should or continuously mess with them with their fingers and no clean them and then they tend to get infections because they can't leave them alone. A piercing doesn't clean itself and should be cleaned regardless if you think it doesn't need it. Sometimes they also become infected because of the type of material the jewelry is, just make sure to clean and take care of your piercings and if you're having problems it may very well be the material of the jewelry

First off, hair gets wrapped around any piercing, second, taking the jewelry out can cause the infection to get trapped in there, so stop telling people to take them out lmao

Causes infection like crazy but you don't need to take it out. Just clear original anti-bacterial soft soap. And it should be good in a week.

You cannot remove a piercing. A piercing is a hole in the skin. The jewelry doesnt need to come out. It simply needs to be cleaned properly, as any part of the body should be.

Dermatologists don't know ish about piercings. That's healed, it's just irritated from the hair getting wrapped around the post. Unwrap the hair and put the head back on and treat it like normal, no need for that to come out. Source: am piercer for 30ish years

No redness, no swelling or pus. Just clean the area and leave piercing in. Not infected!

Many places tell you not to remove the piercing and just turn it in place.

All she has to do is get a hair stuck in there and keep twisting.

no need to remove it. girls hair falls out and when we sleep it gets tangled round the ear ring. that's why it's important to clean your piercings.
she just needs to clean it out and swap it for a ring so it doesn't heal up

I had that happen to my cartilage but my friend took it off and cleaned it and my ear put it back it healed it happens becuz ur hair just gets wrapped around

Bad advice, piercing looks perfectly fine. No infection even on the hair that came off

I had that problem with 3 of my piercings in the late 90’s that I had hair wrapped around the back of the earring. It was easy to take the hair out. I just had to pulled the backing out. It was a butterfly backing. Those 3 were done at Claire’s. My 3rd piercings on the lobes and my 1st cartilage piercing on my left ear. They got a little bit infected. I still have those piercings on my ears. I even have 9 more piercings, too. I do have 6 piercings on both ears.
