The Trinity is one of the central doctrines of Christianity. Probably most Christians have heard of the Nicene Creed, and they think they hold to its teachings on the Deity of Christ. However, as Bercot explains in this message, most Christians today hold to a view of the Trinity that is not in accordance with either the Nicene Creed or the early Christian doctrine of the Trinity.

This might be the best teaching on the Trinity that I've ever heard. Thank you for posting this, this teaching answered a lot of things that I've wrestled with in regards to the Trinity when I would read the Scriptures.

Where is the book or the blueprint before it is penned, but in the mind of the author. This (I believe) is what is meant when it says In the beginning was the word (logos) and the word was with God and the word was God.

Excellent! Jesus Christ the only begotten from the Father!

Question: I understand that the Father and the Son are both divine, and are separate persons/beings. Although the Father is the only unbegotten, still some may accuse the trinity doctrine as being polytheistic, because of multiple divine persons/beings. How would you respond?

This is a really good 👍 summation of what the ECFs believed about the trinity

Yep fire from fire. Begotten is symbolic before becoming a man not the same as being born from a man. Created can mean formed from a previously existing substance in the Bible

Do you guys have any teaching on Jesus being both man and God. I hear a lot about Him being 100% man and 100% God simultaneously. If you don't have any teaching on this, can you point to some resources that would be help in my studies of this topic? Thanks!

The description of Novatian was rather unfortunate. Rather than a "leader of a reform movement", he was a schismatic who did not agree with restoring lapsed believers who had given in during the persecution. Much to be preferred was the approach of Cyprian, who had a true shepherd's heart for the lost.
