I’m disappointed in humanity for most of these. The golden mini fig is understandable but at the same time it was clearly marketed to collectors. The osprey is used as a rescue aircraft but yeah most well known for conflict but staging protests over it is a bit much. Everything else is either folks not understanding context or being butthurt for no reason

The first ever Lego set I got with minifigs was the Shell station (set 377) in the late 70s. It always made sense to me that if my Lego town had so many cars, you needed a gas station to service them. Lego blocks themselves are a petroleum product.

Legos are for everyone, not just kids.

Was gonna leave it alone but no. Jabba’s palace is a stretch as Lego pieces could do so much and in the movie, the design was - in my opinion - a reference to the idea and meme, “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.”
To call it out as anything racist is low.

3:36 it’s not everyday the audience gets flipped off by a LEGO Infinity Gauntlet.

Gotta love how the infinity gauntlet lego set the VO is holding is flipping the bird 🤣😆

Let's not forget about the window licker controversy where Turg from the Lego Mixels line was called an offensive term used in the United Kingdom and an experiment gone very very wrong

Assault on Hoth:

Part of the ultimate collectors series yet got the number of disks on the shield generator wrong (the set for 6 year olds got it right)

Not an assault, you got 2 Snowtroops versus an entire base

Wampa cannot fit through his cave door

More of a play then a UCS set (have since made a line for adult based play sets)

Aka, cool idea but bad execution.

Big one missed. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It was supposed to be released last year and canceled a few months before street date.

There's a controversial LEGO set that may not be in this video, and it goes by the name Turg from Mixels, it caused controversy because of the description Turg that explains him as an experiment gone very wrong, part frog, part chicken, part back of the bus window licker, the controversial part is "Window licker", an offensive term for people with learning disabilities, LEGO removed window licker along with part back of the bus and kept selling the set

Never understood the Jabba's Palace controversy tbh. Why go after Lego for making it "look like" the Hagia Sophia when the set is clearly based off a 1983 movie lol.

The Jabba's Palace felt forced. They should have taken issue with George Lucas, not Lego.
I never saw the Shell sets and only knew Octan in Lego City. And admittedly Octan is going green. A few sets have featured Octan power cells for electric cars or recharge stations.
And another controversy was over the first wheelchair piece Lego produced. It was for some Duplo set the instructions showed a nurse pushing an old man in a wheelchair. This got some handicap groups upset, claiming it made it look like wheelchairs were for the old and the infirm. Lego issued an apology and a few years later released a minifig scaled wheelchair piece in their "Fun at the Park" people pack. It showed a normal looking guy in the wheelchair and he was smiling and depicted throwing a ball to a kid. I had to give Lego credit for not making a big deal out of it or trying to draw attention to it. I like to describing the re-release of Dave Chapelle's "Half-Baked." The old cover had all three main characters just standing side by side on the cover. The newer cover, post Chapelle Show, still had the other two in their spots but Dave's face front and center on the box.

Saying that the Star Wars episode 3 Lego set with Palpatine is too dark… You’re a bum 😂😂😂😂

When Greenpeace went after Lego, Lego "didn't have a choice?" They had a choice. They could have told GP to GFY.

The only thing I can’t stand about Lego is how damn expensive they are. Then add licensed products and yeah I can’t afford those whatsoever unless I find them on clearance.
