As a childcare worker: Anger is a normal human emotion that all children experience and it is generally very important that they learn to deal with it. And playing tends to be a good way for them to do just that. So I really don't see how faces of varying emotions could be harmful to kids. If this has an impact on their development at all, it would certainly not be a negative one.

The idea that everything that's not all smiles and cuteness would desturb a child and therefor needs to be kept away from them is a very outdated one. Never underestimate children. Even young ones are often capable of surprisingly intense emotional intelligence.

Also, I remember being annoyed by the smiles as a kid.

To add to the Lepin thing:

Lepin also started stealing FAN ideas and turning those into sets to sell.

I also believe they basically worked as sweatshops

Honestly, I wholeheartedly disagree with the argument on minifigures having angry expressions. People have many emotions, and I think it’s better to encourage kids to show their emotions rather than hide them and only smile. Besides, kids are smarter than we think. If a kid sees, say, an angry Luke Skywalker face, I doubt they’ll think “this means I should only ever be angry.” Instead, they’ll likely remember the scene the set is replicating, and understand why Luke is angry.

I think that Legos should have different expressions just cuz it teaches that different emotions exist and that it's normal and natural to have them

Man as somebody who has played with Lego their whole life, I can’t get mad at them for a lot of these things, if anything I’m thankful that Lego puts this much love and care into their message of appealing to anyone no matter the color, gender, or identity.

Technically, the one with the girls deciding not to do science and instead bake muffins is pretty funny to me cause technically they are still doing science.

Another fact about Activision Blizzard, at one point they attempted to shred evidence.

I think yellow minifigures can still have a part to play. While specific tones are the best for defined characters, yellow(usually combined with more generic faces) can be more ambiguous. A character who you can decide who they are. That’s why they’re great for the classic themes like city, castle, pirates, etc. In that same sense, darker skin tones can also fit into that role, simply not being a specific characters. Since there is already a big difference in the themes that use yellow vs tan skin tones, which are both “light”, there can still be a difference in themes that use dark skin tones for specific characters with realistic skin tones and generic characters.

Gotta say Phantom, you always manage to handle delicate subject matter with such good care, very clearly explaining issues, and providing a neutral opinion that never feels pushy.

The last controversy kinda makes sense, but I think the stronger justification is accuracy. They had to know that they'd eventually start adapting other franchises with famous actors of color, so not having them at all would be quite unfortunate. Especially for something like Black Panther. :P

To me their worst business decision was the way they treated Bionicle.

I still can't believe that Simpsons set got controversial from critics.
If it were Family Guy or South Park, I would understand but The Simpsons is harmless.
Either way I'm looking forward to see what's on this list.

I’m a Christian and I have a ton of Harry Potter legos. The whole Harry Potter makes you evil is ridiculous.

What you said about gender prejudice is quite true. When I was in my adolescence, I was actually afraid of getting action figures of female characters whether they be from comic books or movies for fear that I would get bullied or ridiculed. But thankfully that has changed as I have said screw gender prejudice and bought myself Harley Quinn and Batgirl action figures.

It really does suck that the stereotypical colours are still attributed to genders. Every time I walk into a toy store it's actual whiplash to see the wall of pink in the "girls" section. I had a friend that was autistic, and we used to bond over our similarities with our autism. He LOVED playing with barbies, and I'd occasionally join him despite my interests in toys being different, and he'd get made fun of a lot for it. Gender stereotypes are so horrible, and it sucks I'll probably be gone before they're not pushed as hard onto kids

Well Strider I'm so proud of you for finally adding in Mixels content in your lego videos I hope the Mixel community will thank you for adding in Turg's (the one Lixer member with a very controversial tagline "window licker" before it was removed) description I hope you can appreciate my comment for being a die-hard Mixel fan

At least LEGO is able to acknowledge its mistakes and try to make things right, unlike other companies who make things even worse.

I think what Lego was going for with the Friends comic suggesting they'd stand out in a science lab is because they're teenagers and not adult workers. Teenagers coming to give the scientists baked goods would probably not raise as many red flags as some teenagers clearly trying to sneak around, even if they were dressed as lab worker.
