"'What am I going to tell my kid about why she's in that outfit?' Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear that stupid outfit, and then I killed him because I didn't like it. And then I took it off. Backstage, " - Carrie Fisher

“No bullying”

*Bully maguire dancing his way to LEGO HQ planning to put some dirt in their eye*

Not only is Overwatch a first person shooter, which goes against Lego guidelines, but that is the exact same reason for why Lego hasn't done anything in the way of Portal sets, despite the portal gun not actually being a firearm, but a reality breaking quantum tunneling device, though I suppose Lego is probably also against encouraging people to shatter the laws of physics and rip apart the fabric of space-time, likely more than they are against allowing violent imagery in their sets.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Slave Leia is brought back, rebranded as Boba Fett’s Starship Leia

I feel like the entire lego Indiana Jones set really skirted the line on the no war vehicles restriction. There were a bunch of lego sets that clearly had military vehicles, given how many times Indy is chased by soldiers. I even had one that was a Soviet amphibious assault vehicle from the jungle chase scene in Crystal Skull with a lego .30 cal on the front.

In my opinion, the only inappropriate things about Lego are their prices

That "Fancy Woman" minifigure is kind of hilarious. It almost seems like some guy working at LEGO thought it would be funny to make a minifigure of... that job, but wanted to make it so indirect that only fans would realize it

3:23 I don’t think it was about implying police brutality, many figured Lego scrapped it due to the fact that it was essentially a factory for bombs and weapons.

To add to the Seinfeld packaging. The line "Sponge Worthy" is about birth control and how Elaine deemed some of her suiters "Sponge Worthy"

Also, Cathedrals and church's please would be phenomenal. A modular would be insane and large churches and mosques around the world would be great. Looking at you Architecture that I have no interest in.

It's possible we may see Slave Leia again. She was included in a vote by Disney for what Black Series action figure they should remake. Although she's now referred to as "Huttslayer Leia". Sadly she didn't win the vote. I think that vote was about one or two years ago.

Everyone: "LEGO Simspons are bad! There's Apu and Nelson"
Me: Honestly, I'm more surprised Itchy and Scratchy made it to figure form

That Lone Ranger minigun cracks me up, Lego literally states "no weapons of any kind including guns" 😂

These rules are interesting and must only be applied to the Lego sets because there are LOADS of times Lego breaks them in their tv shows and and videos games, most obvious being how people die in Lego games all the time.

But the most interesting point of contention is how the Ninjago tv show breaks these rules. A few examples off the top of my head are:

1. A character was naked in a bath tub and forced into a fight. Only his chest was shown but it was obvious he was naked and he was not happy about it either.

2. Several unconsensual kisses including one where Ronin (a middle aged man) does it to Nya (who is certainly significantly younger than her) to distract her. It's not as extreme as the guideline rules but it's certainly skirting the edge.

3. There is a scene with a sailor who is very clearly drunk. He's collapsed, he's surrounded by bottles, and his slurring his words. They never explicitly *say* he's drunk but it's pretty obvious.

4. There's no irl racism but the ninja encounter races of orcs and goblin-like creatures who are clearly bigoted towards each other. It's very clearly an allegory for racism.

5. There's bullying because, come on, it's an action theme and you have to have a bad guy. Most of the time the villains are doing things that are *worse* than bullying but sometimes the kid antagonist bully characters too.

6. And finally, there is *a lot* of death, violence, and killing in Ninjago. Characters, especially villains, die all the time and sometimes it's even shown on screen! There are certainly moments of torture and terrorism too, I'm taking about building being blown up (with people inside) and other buildings falling down and killing people. Some people are just plain killed because they are shot in the chest by a weapon. One bad guy is even burned alive by molten metal. These deaths aren't even implied, they directly impact the plot, are explicitly acknowledged, and serve as motivation for several characters.

Again, I'm cartoon that Lego has different rules for it's media than it does for it's toy sets, but that media was made to advertise these toys sets and I promise you that there are kids reenacting the violent and sketchy scenes I mentioned above when they play with the toys.

As a religious Christian, LEGO advent calendars do not count as being religious. At all. If I thought they did, I'd almost find them offensive as trivializing religious holidays.

Could have also brought up the recent wreath incorporating actual advent candles into it.

Even as a non religious person that religion rule is a bit disappointing if only for how it prevents us from getting any really nice cathedral or church builds in modulars or architecture.

On the topic of LEGO Advent, just last year LEGO made something even more specific to the Christian tradition by having the Christmas wreath set be able to be rebuilt as an advent wreath with four candles. A candle is lit each Sunday leading up to Christmas and is popular in many churches and Christian households. Thought that was interesting.

Basically a nitpick here, but the weapon you're referring to on the Lone Ranger set is a gatling gun, not a Minigun. Gatling guns are hand-cranked rotary firearms that were around in the late 1800s, the M134 Minigun is a specific, electrically powered machine gun that's usually built into vehicles and is far more recent.

I remember when that documentary about Apu came out and literally everyone including the people he interviewed on it disagreed. Got Apu axed for no legitimate reason.

I definitely think Lego should be more relaxed with their enforcement of rules, especially with properties that are obviously focused towards older fans. Oh well
