“We’re not so different from yeast after all” is a sentence that I never thought I’d hear or quote 😂

In my experience, you should add your nutrient to a separate liquid medium, gently add it to your must, and lightly agitate the must. Don't stir it or shake it violently. That adds oxygen to the must and can increase the sulfates, contributing to sour flavors and can cause the batch to turn into vinegar instead, if you get too much trapped oxygen. Oxygen in the beginning of the batch is good. Helps the yeast get started faster and stronger, but you don't want extra oxygen in the batch after active fermentation has started.

Just some tips I picked up since I started brewing.

It seems in that perspective as though it's following Le Chateliers "Principle of Equilibrium", that is, adding more reagent forces more product manufactured. Nutrients in. Alcohol out.

Does feeding the yeast affect flavor? Or is it just speed of fermentation? Keep up the good work and my best to you and yours.

Should i bottle or spoon feed the yeast

Isn’t there sugar their food? Wouldn’t it be more like nutrients or “yeast vitamins”?

Staggered nutrients depend on the type of yeast

Got to be careful with yeast boosters. One of the best and easiest ways to feed them is Cannibal style. Boil some (cheap, plentiful) baking yeast, to neutralize it, then add it to your ferment. It’s got everything Yeast needs and adds no additional chemicals or whatever.

Is the creation of alcohol the main time factor with mead making?
Or is there a flavor development difference between the fed yeast route and the non-fed route?

One thing I haven't noticed, is it worth mixing the honey into the water or just straight in unmixed?

so wait can you skip the bottling step if you use a jug like that

Is fermaid-o "natural" in the sense of, it doesn't have any of the chemical side effects or common additives that other addition powders have? Like potassium sorbate and so forth? Interested in keeping out the "bad" white powder. Cheers

Would adding more honey or sugar also feed the yeast.

I put a recent batch on my window sil to speed up fermentation. Sadly it stopped it. Turns out temperature rose to 44 degrees celsius.
Fortunately adding new yeast started it again

That almost looks like some tepaché pineapple beer I made once.

I’m a professional brewer. Why would you want to speed it up. You are changing flavours.
