It's been two years since the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 have released, both having good points and bad points. But which is better?

Here is how I think the two consoles stack up.

XBox Series X - Better hardware. Better services. Less impressive first party library
Playstation 5 - Inferior hardware. Inferior services. Prettier user interface. Better first party software library.

I have had both since launch too. I like both systems honestly. They both have pros and cons. However with them both releasing newer features over the two years, I fell there is less cons. Xbox just needs games to come out that aren’t available on PS. I got through times where I play Xbox more and then other times I play PS5 more often. I am a gamer in general so I don’t have loyalty to any system. I have the 3 main consoles plus my PC.

Had the series x for a year, sold it, got a ps5 and then built my PC haven’t looked back. Wish I would’ve just went with a ps5 the first place. My personal opinion

When you think about it, the cost of a Playstation 5 (retail $499), Xbox Series X (retail $499) and Nintendo Switch (retail $299) combined (~ $1, 300) is cheaper than a high end gaming PC so I think getting all 3 is a great gaming solution.

The PS5 got me through the pandie. I will always love my PS5 for helping me through 2.5 years of isolation.

I play my Series X way more than my PS5 thanks to Game Pass. Whenever a big Sony title comes out I play it, finish it and then back to my Xbox.

Since the vast majority of games are still targeting base PS4 and Xbox One hardware most games really aren't taking advantage of the hardware outside of simply being higher resolution and framerates. Good yes but its been such a slow start to this gen that by the time it really starts people will be expecting new consoles.

Ps5 has gyro, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, controller microphone and the best exclusive games. God of War, ghost of tsushima, spiderman, returnal, horizon zero dawn, last of us. It's not even close and soon psvr2 which will be outstanding

I play PS5 for exclusives, I play PC for xbox games. Why anyone would buy an xbox when you can play the same game at higher fidelity, framerate, customization, and addon support with a PC is beyond my comprehension.

I currently have the Series X and I love it. I’m planning on getting a PS5 soon for the exclusives, both are fantastic in their own rights.

Both great but backwards compatibility and Quick Resume have me in team green. Playing on XCloud before dedicating storage space to a full install is a cool perk too.

Game pass is cool but nothing is better than new games, and Microsoft isn't bringing anything to the table

I have both systems but it will be nice to finally see Xbox come through with some first party games.

I have both of these systems as well. Before Ragnarok released, I hadn't touched my PS5 in almost 3 months. My Series X is my primary console & I only play exclusives on PS5 & Switch.

I got the series x first, and then i got the ps5 a year later. The ps5 is now my main console for multiple reasons. Its a cool design, the controller blows my mind with its features, the exclusives are dope, the blue game boxes are nicer looking on my white shelves, and the updated UI from the ps4 makes the console actually feel next gen and new. Whereas the Series X just feels like the Xbox One 2

My wife got us a Series S last Christmas and couldn’t be happier. I loaded up an external hd with thousands of retro games and it emulates pretty much everything flawlessly with Retroarch.

It’s basically a perfect Gamepass and Retro emulation machine.

I have both the Series X and PS5 (plus the Switch & Steam Deck to boot). I honestly tend to play my Xbox far more then my PS5 because of having a 360 & One S but I wanted to get into PS exclusives so I got Sonys machine. After playing a few exclusives I still prefer Xbox but that by no means downplays how awesome PlayStation is. Do I wish Xbox had more exclusives... absolutely, I just enjoy that system more and it's my preference. If you prefer PlayStation... enjoy it...if you prefer Xbox... enjoy it. At the end we are all gamers the same.

If you have a gaming PC, you virtually own BOTH a PS5 and XBSX.

I’ve got both, I’m in my 30s and make ok money now and I respect my time. I lean towards my PS5 more often. Their exclusives have been some of the most impactful single player experiences I’ve ever had. The dual sense is a perfect controller imo. There’s not much on Xbox that I wish I had on my PS5. I guess it depends on your demographic. When I was young on a budget I’m sure I’d pick a series x instead.
