iPhone 6s Plus battery replacement in 3 minutes

LET ME KNOW IF THOSE LINKS STOP WORKING!!

Whether your Apple iPhone 6s Plus battery only lasts a few hours, or it has completely lost its charge altogether... It might be time to replace it. Luckily replacement batteries are not too expensive, and can be done with just a small screwdriver and a little bit of patience.

Go slow, and make sure not to put too much stress on those ribbon cables or else you might break the screen... which would be a much more expensive repair.

This video was filmed with a Samsung Note 5 in 4k resolution.

I’m a woman and I’m 52. He taught me how to replace my screen. I’ll be doing the battery next. He’s no bullshit and that how I run too. He’s saved me so much money and boosted my confidence. I don’t know anyone in real life who knows how to work on their own iPhone. My dad taught me to replace his carburetor on his truck when I was 11. He got me started on my confidence. I’ve been a diy er my whole life. Thank you Zach.

3:04 to do a video most people take 20 minutes to make. Awesome. I like the straightforward approach. You have a new subscriber.

Nice quick efficient video. Well done. Only tip I would add is to make sure to fully discharge your old battery, as in flat dead. The reason is that even a partially charged old Li-ion battery stores a lot of energy in chemical form. If punctured, it WILL burst into flames. A dead battery is much less likely to do so. Then you can do the pry of shame without fear of fire. :-) Again, thanks for the quick clear video. Well done!

Good Video. All them are bloody brilliant Man.
My Mum got me into cars & fix them.
I’ve used Your videos to teach Mum how to fix Her phone. She now fixes mine ( I don’t have the patience, heavy handed ), her friend’s & her daughter’s.
Mum is 70 now & still teaching me stuff.

Thanks Jerry, it’s given Mum loads of confidence & understanding of modern phones.

Thanks an absolute ton! Managed to get two strips out and had to pry and pull to eventually get the last one out. It was very tricky and I had to use a lot of patience. Was worried it all hadn't worked at first... Then I reset the screen connectors and so far it's working perfectly!

Wish I had watched this before attempting to replace battery. I had done it before on different model iphones and never had a problem. Getting all that adhesive off properly is key. I did everything like video but didn't pull adhesive out like he did. As I started to pry the battery up little by little it flexed/creased when I got impatient and lit up like a magnesium flare. No joke! It was smoking and red hot. Couldn't go near it for almost 20 minutes and phone was utterly destroyed.

This video is very informative! Just a quick note in some situations the screen will not power on even if the screen is connected correctly, and you might need to hold the Power + Home button for 20 seconds to perform a soft reboot.

Thank you so much. I have successful replaced my iPhone 6s plus battery with the help of your video. Thumb up!
By the way, it is super hard to pull out the adhesive strips. I managed to pull out two strips without breaking it.

Just bought the stuff you recommended. Repair University had it here in a few days ahead of schedule. I ended up with 2 tool kits(1 from amazon also) and fyi the one that came with the battery is sufficient.
Note : there are different length screws so just put them all in and if too long put in a different hole. I did gum up the black edge sealer but just a tiny bit. My fingers are like big dry hot dogs and using the tweezers and taking my time with some precautions of avoiding sharp edges made it a breeze.

I had to plug the battery connector and then set the battery in .. there is not a lot of flex.

Thanks much!

Thanks for this. You're right about the adhesive, it's a bastard to get a hold of. Did my first repair job for a work colleague the other day and this video was invaluable. So is your advice & your tools :-)

Thank you. You are brilliant. Right to the point. No need to explain in 45 minutes like some other people. A million thanks.

Hello Sir, I replaced my wife's phone battery today using this video. The entire procedure took me like 10-15 minutes, and mostly because I struggled to open the phone, that was the hard part. But the job is done and it seems to be working. Old battery was completely dead and phone would not turn on. Thanks!

I am SO glad you “messed up” on the adhesives. I now understand how they hold the battery in. I might just do this.
