CNN fact-checker 'destroyed' Democrats' Trump-Project 2025 'hoax'

CNN's Daniel Dale has fact-checked claims made by Democrats at the National Convention about Donald Trump's involvement in Project 2025.

During the Democratic National Convention, speakers criticised Project 2025, a conservative initiative led by the Heritage Foundation think tank.

The initiative includes input from many former Trump administration officials but was not written by Trump himself.

Democrat Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester falsely claimed that Donald Trump "wrote Project 2025", describing it as his book.

Dale, CNN's resident political fact-checker, debunked the claim Trump had anything to do with the initiative.

The claim that Trump “wrote” Project 2025 is false," Dale said.

"There is no evidence that Trump was personally involved in writing the Project 2025 policy document, let alone that it was his own “book.”"
