Maitreya mentioned here is not entirely derived from Sanskrit. In Sanskrit (maitri), it just means friendliness but in Pali language the word Maitreya which is rendered from Metteyya refers to the future Buddha in Buddhist tradition . In the game, the destined one meets the future Buddha himself. So the word Maitreya is much more fitting when derived from the Pali than Sanskrit.
