Dark Souls Guide - How to cut off seaths Tail

The easiest way to get the tail is to make seath destory his own crystal and then he gets stunned for you to go in on the tail and go ham.

For anyone still struggling with this in 2017, here's what I (miraculously) did to get at his tail easily: Start the fight from the fog wall and goad him into attacking you while he faces away from the primordial crystal. I then ran around him to the left and went straight to break the crystal. If you do it fast enough, he should still be facing away from you (because of the attack) and he will be stunned by the crystal breaking for a second or two. From here I did a running R1 into a normal R1 and that was enough to kill the tail. I was on normal mode using a +15 Great Scythe with 40 dex, but anything that does like 800-1000 damage in 1-2 hits should be good enough for this method. Good luck. :)

This was literally the most difficult thing in the whole soulsborne series for me. Afterwards I beat this scaleless fucknugget in under a minute.

The key is going for the absolute end of the tail, like the last ten feet of it. I was going in the middle of it and did like 2K damage but nothing.

i could use some help - i try to get behind him when he's using his breath attacks but once i am at his tail he's finished with his breathing stuff and starts his tail sweeping. i cant even land a single hit on his tail...

Cutting that tail off without this method seemed... Overwhelmingly difficult. I didn't even think about letting him destroy the crystal by himself, I just went and destroyed it by myself :D Knight's Honor is now one step closer. Thank you!

I like how he stood still and let you do that, and didn't IMMEDIATELY rotate at every possible opportunity. "Oh just bait his breath", i fucking tried that, he immediately does his tail smash and kills me IN HAVELS. Fuck this boss.

Thanks buddy, worked like a charm working on Knights honor achievement and forgot a couple of weapons. I am a strength/Faith build but heavier weapons weren't doing the trick for me on NG+3-so the Gravelord sword was just perfect thanks! Subbed!
