I visited Dumbarton Castle, in the town of Dumbarton. It was once the capital of the Ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde. It was once attacked by the Vikings, and it was also the prison for William Wallace, before he was taken to England. It overlooks the River Clyde.

Hello from Utah, USA! Thank you for your films. I have been watching them during covid to "explore" Scotland virtually.

Allt, or Ystrad Clud, as it was known...Allt means hill / incline and Clud means protected/cozy . Ystrad is still common in Wales, it means a territory /region and it’s where the Strath’ comes from.
It’s good to know we built castle too... God knows the English built enough of them to keep us subjugated!.This is where William ‘Wallace’s’ descendants came from, so all Hail the Cymry of the Old North.☝️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
