We can see Dumbarton Castle and Rock from our house overlooking the Clyde (Port Glasgow, which incidentally also has a castle 😊), beautiful views from the top and interesting history, and yes, 'hunners' o stairs 🙂👌🏻

My dad and I did the electrical work in the castle about 7 years ago. It's a really cool place

Fun fact: "Rhapsody" which can be found on the Eastern side of the rock and made famous by elite climber Dave MacLeod in 2006 stood as the hardest traditional climbing route in the world, this was only surpassed in 2019, its still considered one of the most difficult in the world. The grade is E11 5.14c.... Those steps are a bit easier I'd say. I live just around the corner 😂

I went there with my Grandmother and father was a great time i remember the view from the top like it was yesterday

You know I've been past here so many times on the train but never gone up myself. Might have to make a stop the next time

My dad used to work there. He had to go up the steps every day at the end of the day to make sure all the visitors had actually left.
