Don't take this the wrong way, but hearing form any american, that germany had "constant war" when in the time frame from 1871 to today germany, on its own, was involved in a total of three wars, while the US had like... 100 wars in the same time... i don't know. Maybe your preception is a little bit off.

Germany as Europe's "tornado alley" is true if compared to the other European countries, but cannot be compared to the tornadoes in North America. Even in Germany, tornadoes are very rare - although they seem to become more and more frequent...

"Constant War"? The last time Germany was in a war, was 1945. The one country that has been constantly in a war since then is the USA. If they don't teach that in your schools here is a little reminder: Korean War, Vietnam War, War in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, do all of those ring a bell? then there are the involvement of US Forces in Egypt, Lebanon, Laos, Domenican Republic and Cambodia (in the 1960s); Jordan, Bolivia, Afghanistan (in the 1970s) Nicaragua, Grenada (1980s); Kuwait, Yugoslavia, Somalia, Haiti, Sudan (1990s) and since the beginning of the new Millenium Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Uganda, Syria and some other places.

Don´t get me wrong but it always feels weird when Americans claim "I´m 40% German" instead of "I have german ancestors" because clearly you are a full american. Born and raised in the US. Even if you have a german parent doesn´t make that you "German" (or any other nationality). We welcome everyone here espacially people who want to find out about their heritage and family history and maybe after you lived here for a while, speak some of the language and understand the culture you can call yourself a bit german.

While some stuff is true other information is a bit off for example some spelling mistakes... and our education system isn't exactly how it is explained in the video. Yes we have theoretically different types of schools in which we get divided, but first of all you get divided by your grades and while you have a say in what school it shall be there are limitations. Also "Hauptschulen" are an expiring school form. Then we have not only "Gymnasien and "Realschulen" but also "Gesamtschulen" and project schools which varify in the ways they handel things. The difference between "Realschulen" to "Gymnasien" and "Gesamtschulen" is that with the second and third you can make your A-Levels so you can go to the University. And the learn pressure and expactations are higher in a "Gymnasium" than the other ones. There are many other differences I won't touch now but the way he explained it wasn't fitting the current situation with our school system. Though I have to add that there are many interesting facts put together in this video a lot of them are not truely on point, so please take eveerything with a grain of salt. And if you are interested in some further facts aks germans or more official/formal sources.

Note: I hope I don't offend anyone with this, I only aim to educate further. So if you simply don't care than feel free to ignore this comment xD Have a great day everybody and I love to see the curiousity regarding different countries and cultures its awesome! :)

Some other fun-facts about Germany:
- Germany as the country it is now known is just 32 years old as west and east Germany reunited in 1990

- Porsche has a pronounced "e" at the end (pronounced like: Pórsche)
- Germany has one of the highest requirements and hardest tests in order to get any drivers license

Plattdeutsch isn't just one kind. The northern regions have different variables than in the western regions. Check out the 'Rheinischer Fächer' to see how diverse the western Platt variations are.

I live in Munich and the Oktoberfest takes place there. Unfortunately, it was cancelled the last two years because of Covid, but it will take place again in 2022. I would be happy to invite you to the "Wiesn". That's what we call the Oktoberfest in Bavaria. :D
