We were taught this in a Wing Chun / Street Defence class, take all the hits on the arm and lats and then your elbow is in play for the counter, and keep your other hand protecting your throat

I love these clips at your training facility, which I would like to call The Ranch. I think you have a great knew way of presenting safety training tips that will bring in more people that are looking to protect themselves. God Bless you.

Great clip. We do something similar. The "fence" as Geoff Thompson teaches it. With a 3 touch rule. Don't let them touch your fence 3 times. If someone touches your fence twice it's most probably goin off. Then cover crash counter.

At 6.41 the pad holder did a what we'd call a pre fight cue. Quick look over the shoulder, looking for things such as witnesses, team mates, the 5-0 or CCTV. I'm guessing you teach these too in these sessions. Pre-fight cues can help a lot in avoiding the first punch or allowing you to flank them and avoiding all together.

Great clip sir.

This may not seem like much but the difference between this and getting hit directly in the dome is massive. Great video.

They're Oakley, and sturdy. ESS is sturdier though. You can just get replacement lenses and parts for the Oakley. They're also designed to break away from your eyes as opposed to other eyewear. Poly and Trivex are break resistant to a point, but not scratch resistant.

Thanks for the video.

The first time someone tried to teach me this, we went slow at first, and I did okay. We moved up to full speed. On about the second or third try, I was moving my hand to the back of my head and put my own thumb into my eye. I had a black eye for a couple of days. The technique is right, but one reason to practice is to learn not to stick one's own thumb into one's own eye.

Backstepping while doing this, and returning a strike to the opening side that did the strike is a great counter, that many ufc fighters have had success with, including Anderson Silva. Its well known that an adversary will have terrible defense while forward stepping, and if timed right and stepping into them, can produce a very powerful blow, whether palm, elbow or fist.

Ya might do a vid on Love Triangles. There was one starting at my apt. bldg. and I put it down by addressing it w/ Management. Along w/ my suspicions some are rather subtle. These can be so dangerous. I've been hit on by three different women here all already involved with someone. Never never enter one. And that might not be enough. lol ! I tend to keep a good separation work colleagues, school, friends and tenants etc ... not all do. And a lesser observant could bit on this one hard.
