I think the most significant line in this song is: She's leaving home after living alone for so many years. She lived with her parents but felt alone. Her parents felt differently. Classic generation gap.

Such mature lyrics from young men in their mid-20s. The song itself is timeless. The bands the UK produced in the 1960s were formed by people born during a terrible war.

I love the way John responds to Paul in this song. It is perfect! ❤️❤️❤️

Every time I hear the end of this song, I automatically hear the beginning of "For the benefit of mister kite" begin in my head.

As a parent I spiral into depression when I hear this song, so sad, I have to fight of tears. The Beatles are by far the best group ever to existed. So talented.

As a young person, I strongly identified with the daughter's need to escape her home life. But years later, as a parent, I felt really sad for the parents, who had obviously done the best they could. I think this song was very much "of its time", in that so very many young people in those days wanted lives that looked nothing like the ones their parents envisioned for them. It's a very emotional song!

Love this song. "She's Leaving Home" is one of the songs from their 1967 masterpiece album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Lots of great songs such as "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds", "A Day In The Life", "When I'm Sixty-Four" etc.

What timing. Our only daughter just announced she’s moving out. My wife and I are crushed. She’s 20 and had a plan and we support her but we are absolutely crushed. This song nails it.

Most Lennon & McCartney original songs from 1962 through 1964 were geared towards being the bands next single. 1965 through 1967 saw their songs incorporate more adult themes. She's Leaving Home (1967) is a perfect example of their growth as song writers. These were 2 adult men shedding their 'Mop Top' image and Pop Star personas. They were now undeniably accepted, by even their mist severe critics, as serious composers and spokesmen for their generation.. Beautiful reaction. Beautiful song. Beautiful young lady. That is a Win Win Win in any book. Wonderful video JAYY. Thanks for sharing, RNB

This song was about much more than simply coming of age and wanting to stretch her wings. The daughter felt unloved and disconnected from her parents, which is a whole other level of discontent.

Paul wrote this regarding a news article about a girl who left home. Years later he discovered she was a girl he met on a British TV teen show....ca 1963 before worldwide fame. She won a lip syncing or dance contest, he was a judge, handed her the award whatever it was. Later she was the girl who ran away which he wrote about in this song, not have a clue he had met her 4 years before. Talk about a weird experience.

One of the most beautiful songs ever written. I’ve loved it ever since hearing it all those years ago. I have to say though, this version sounds altered… it sounds faster and because of it higher pitched.

Whether it was due to God or LSD??? The Beatles went from being a boy's band to a band.

"Love is the one thing that money can't buy..." is the key lyric in this tune. Just sayin'

What great about this song apart from it’s beautiful is that you hear both child and parents’ side.

The kicker is they wrote this song from the parents perspective about a girl that wasn't much younger than them. That is genius.
