Stop Power Automate from Adding an Apply to Each

Maybe you’ve occasionally experienced the same sensation I have when working in Microsoft Power Automate – saying out loud to your screen, “WHY DOES IT DO THAT?!” For me, one of these such features is the automatic addition of an “Apply to Each” container in your action – in my case, a “send email” action. This happens each time I add a People Picker multi-select field from my SharePoint list to the body of my email. Initially I thought this was a result of the field being an array (a field that has several elements), however, it only occurs if the field allows multi-select. Watch this video to see how to stop Power Automate from Adding an Apply to Each.

Thank you so much. Microsoft has to do something about this issue. it should be optional feature.

You could also use the function "Compose" whose value is first(ProjectManager) - removing the Initialize, the set and the apply for each.

As a previous comments has suggested if ProjectManager is a multi-value array you'll only be taking the last value of that array and so the above suggestion assumes there's only a single element in the multi-array.

Any solutions for why the PA flow creating multiple iterations of the same event on the Outlook Calendar. I created a leave application using forms, so when a leave is approved it records in an excel file and then create event reads that file and creates event on requestor and approver calendar, however the same event is repeating itself at least 7-10 times.

This was EXTREMELY helpful! I was looking everywhere for a solution to this.

One question, after placing the set variable into the email, only the first entry shows up (it allows for multiple display names). Do you know how to show all names?

Wondering if you can help with something... I have an apply to each that is going through a list of selected records based on a condition and creating copies of those items in another list with some additional info (an automated archive process). The source/active record list has 5 multi-select fields. I used variables/selections/joins on the multi-select fields to concatenate those values and avoid 5 apply to each field loops nesting within my apply to each record loop. The issue is just with the output for the multi-select fields. Seems to be correct when viewed in the run history, but the values written to my archive list are incorrect. I can see the 1st record archived is blank in the multi-select field and the 2nd record archived has the value that should have been saved in the 1st archived record and so on... in this set of 26 records selected for archive, the other multi-select fields happen to be empty.

only shows the last value of the multi-value array.

I followed the exact steps, Variable used in the second action returns a fixed value.
I am try to extract calendar data from Outlook to an excel file. I tried setting categories of events as a variable but now all the categories return same value.
Could you help me with this?
