Hi Everyone,

In this video, I demonstrate how to create an approval process using Power Automate. The approval action I'm using is 'Start and wait for an approval'. I ran into some troubleshooting issues that help demonstrate some issues you may encounter!

If you enjoy the video feel free to like, comment, and subscribe!

Hey Michael, thanks for the walkthrough! Is there a way that under the "Update Item" action, we select a different ID, such as the the column "Project Title" in your case, instead of the record ID ? Thanks

Well done! Tank you so much. Is there a possibility by creating a new item to set the Project staus to new without allowing the creater to edit it?

Keep at it Michael. This is great content. I just about copied exactly what you demonstrated. Screen share was a bit blurry.

You've gain a subscriber here! Thanks for the tutorial. I've been looking around and cannot find any "easy-to-follow" video... mostly complicate a simple tasks. One question though. on timestamp 8:22|9:54, is ity possible to disable the "More actions" section? Also, if you want to add additional tree under the condition "Yes", besides sending email, can you add "Add a Calendar Event" in Outlook calendar? That way the approver receive the email and he or she can see the event in the calendar? Thanks again!

Hi Michael, new subscriber here and I find your video to be very helpful and thanks a bunch for this. Wonder if you can help to make a video on a flow that if someone fills up a Microsoft form then the approver will be notified and needs to approve it then it will auto generate a certificate based on the person's input and send via email? Hope you can help me out on this project of mine. Thank you in advance

We are interested in a video showing one additional step to your video above. How do we next add an item or event to a sharepoint calendar after the item has been added to a list and approved? (We had this running smoothly but seems Microsoft has updated Power Automate and the calendar no longer is updating). Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael, I was able to get an approval workflow running on a flow when a new form submission came through. Everything was working great until I realized that the person who submits the form would not be able to see the list item from our SharePoint site.

When someone on our team approves or rejects their request, the requestor gets a notification from the approvals app in MS Teams. But since they don’t have access to the site, they can’t click on the link in the adaptive card that is supposed to take you to the SharePoint site.

Is there anyway around this without having to grant them access to the SharePoint site/group? Or would I have to ditch the approvals process and go with something more manual as a workaround?

I did see there were some videos about manually assigning sharing permissions to an individual item, but I’m not so sure if that’s the best way.
