i believe there are works throughout history that are meant to be deciphered, have u looked into the book called Secret teachings of all Ages by manly p hall, a33rd degree mason has chapters about ciphers and shakespeare/bacon, but more importantly there is a cipher within it, it only works with the large volume, not the readers edition, interesting book nonetheless

I believe that the solution was a bit forced and inelegant to be correct. Once you have letters left over and still can't explain even the random HEBX feels like something was not quite right w/how you originally tried to solve it.

I noticed some star forts on those old maps. Go figure, the past civilization that we've been excluded from knowing about.

Other words of letters that connect. Not as good a sypher as yours but this may have some merrit. Top Right corner of connection HIERS . Letters that touch one another. Again WOMEN and FEAR, SOME and there are almost words with switches such as row 7 with SREVIVED sounds like Survived. FORM and other words can be found. And that is just with 5 minutes of study.
