Synopsis: After shock jock Jack Lucas (Jeff Bridges) inadvertently provokes a caller into murdering a group of innocent people in a Manhattan bar, he grows depressed and turns to booze. As he's about to hit rock bottom, Lucas meets a homeless man named Parry (Robin Williams), whose wife was killed by the caller Lucas pushed to the brink. Mentally scarred by his loss, Parry spends his days searching for the Holy Grail. Lucas, feeling culpable for the poor man's plight, pledges to help him in his quest.

Robin Williams is such a great actor. One thing; they got involved in Penguin animated films. Williams was in Happy Feet while Jeff Bridges was in Surf’s Up.

My favorite Robin Williams film. Always feels like he cast some of his actual soul into it. It’s at turns funny, sad, horrific and fantastical. Also, though I haven’t seen many otherr films dealing with the mentally ill except in ways that the characters are ostracized and abused….I think “The Fisher King” treats those with mental issues in the kindest way I’ve ever seen. It always leaves me feeling a little better and hopeful at the end. (And I’ve always tried to see any film that is called a Terry Gilliam movie because his stuff is the fabulous work of a genius.)

This movie is like comfort food. I have maybe a handful of movies over my life that I can watch so many times that I've rightly lost track. I'm tired, I have decision fatigue, and so this is a no brainer, since I know it will be epic. It's also complex and wonderful enough that I can take different things out of it every time. Every performer is perfectly cast and flawless for their role. Usually the flaws and the wink link in the cast starts to show up after multiple views. Hasn't happened yet. I'm off to enjoy. Watch, you won't regret this weird, wonderful and very off kilter movie, rightly in a league all its own.
