The Myth of Parsifal told by Robert A. Johnson through a Jungian lens. This myth contains an extremely valuable lesson for the modern age, and deserves to be told, retold, and told again until the wisdom sinks in and becomes common knowledge.

I had a cool dream last year in which i met the fisher king. although i realised only in retrospect. It was an old boss of mine played the role of fisher king, ... he was a very accomplished michelin star chef, and an excellent boss. Very professional, high standards and a very fair and considerate person. In the dream, it was christmas morning and i met him in cosy, rustic living room with rugs and stone walls and there was a fire burning in a hearth. My boss was sitting in a chair by the fire with a blanket over his lap and it seemed he had bad legs or found it difficult to walk. He had been cooking breakfast for people ... frying trout in a skillet on the fire. We were pleased to see eachother ... like a "Hey! How are you i havn't seen you in ages!". - Feelings of warmth and kindness. I asked him what was wrong with his legs, although i don't recall a reply, ... and that was basically the dream. I had talked about the dream with a couple of people but it was at least a couple of weeks later i suddenly realised ... it was the fisher king.

The fool is playful, the fool is intuitive the fool is in flow...therein lies the solution.

Thank you for this video. It's really well done for a book I thought was obscure and hiding somewhere in the trove of books I have packed away. It is so relevant and beneficial to me at this time. What a pleasant surprise!

How strange; this afternoon, I found a book I had forgotten I'd had for years, called "The Fisher King and the Handless Maiden", by Robert A Johnson. Then, later, I found this video!!

I’ve recently become a big fan of Johnson. I’m currently reading Meeting the Shadow, and I’ve got Inner Work, and He to read next. Thanks for making this video! I don’t see a lot of videos about Robert A. Johnson.

Happiness isn’t something you chase or attain. It’s already here.

‘That’ thing won’t make you happy - you make yourself so. You almost have to ‘convince’ yourself to be.

Our ego decides what it wants happiness.
We set out to find a worthwhile purpose: " perhaps I could be a doctor doctors help people" " or maybe donate to a charity"
Yet still fail to find happinesses.
I think it's a misconception to believe that becoming authentic will bring happiness or success

Bran, the three eyed raven, from Game of Thrones ... another fisher king type character.

I stumbled upon this video because I had heard the name Fisher King in a game of thrones video so was curious who that was. Ended up having a deep meditation on the nature of ego, masculinity and surrendering childhood but not innocence. 🤣 Great Vid

Thanks for sharing this mythology. I came here from a book called „Awakening the Heroes within“ from C. S. Pearson.

Parsifal / Perseval gets his name from the ancient female greek god Perse and then the latin Villa. Perse was also known as the maiden and known as Cora. Maiden castle was the place where the grail was kept, Perseval was the grail holder. Perseval means maiden's castle.

Now, here, is the one "told you so" that really should not be learned the HARD way:
Read/hear and believe the gospel of the grace of God that shall save your soul from Hell:
" ...Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

There are several changes you have made to the legend. The one who teaches Parsifal to not ask questions is his mentor in knighthood, not his mother. His mother is the one who taught him to be naive and humble, something he must relearn in order to heal the king.
