Dosage calculations for nursing students, beginners, and nurses made easy. In this video, Nurse Sarah demonstrates how to use 3 different methods to solve dosage calculation problems.

One method to solve dosage calculations is dimensional analysis. The second method shown is called desired over have (formula method), and the third method shown is called ratio and proportion.

If you are in nursing school, you can see which method works best for you. Nurse Sarah's personal favorite is dimensional analysis.

Note: always use the method your professors or facility want you to use.

I absolutely use the Desired over have method. Much more quick and less time consuming especially if you have so many patients. 😭 You need need to be sure tho and knowledgeable about the metric conversions

I was blessed with the ability to calculate all of that in my mind without having to learn any of these steps, I get the right answer every time but I lost so many points on the exam because I don’t remember these and I don’t know how to do it either using these three methods with the exact steps for the exam 😂🤷🏻‍♂️
