Tablets and capsules dosage calculations made easy with practice problems using the "Desired Over Have" formula method for nurses and nursing students.

In this video, you can learn simple tricks to solve dosage calculations for nursing school, NCLEX, HESI, ATI, and other exams. Nurses may also need to refresh on how to solve dosage calculations.

There are many ways to solve dosage calculation problems, such as dimensional analysis, ratio proportion, or the desired over have formula method.

Nurse Sarah demonstrates how to solve several problems using the Desired Over Have method. Two important steps to remember is that you first want to make sure you are dealing with the same units before dividing. If not, you'll need to convert the units using the metric table.

The second tip is to always understand what the question is asking you to solve. Is it for an individual dose, or for the entire day?

Thank you Sarah! The calculations you taught made it more easier for me to understand. In my school here in Canada, we were asked to do follow the dimensional analysis. Yours is easier to follow though. Thanks again!

I'm a LPN and I been getting denied to the bridge program but just got accepted into the ADN!! Should I do it instead of keep trying for the bridge program LPN to RN.
