Tablets and capsules dosage calculations made easy with practice problems using the "Desired Over Have" formula method for nurses and nursing students.

There are many ways to solve dosage calculation problems, such as dimensional analysis, ratio proportion, or the desired over have formula method.

Nurse Sarah demonstrates how to solve several problems using the Desired Over Have method. Two important steps to remember is that you first want to make sure you are dealing with the same units before dividing. If not, you'll need to convert the units using the metric table.

The second tip is to always understand what the question is asking you to solve. Is it for an individual dose, or for the entire day?

I have a question . Supposed after the calculation I got 3 as the dose to be given. Am I to give the patient the 3 tablet at once or should I distribute it morning, afternoon and night.

I'm a LPN and I been getting denied to the bridge program but just got accepted into the ADN!! Should I do it instead of keep trying for the bridge program LPN to RN.
