Hey Adam, Have a look in the settings tab in the measurement software before you measure the speakers & change the location fixing duration from fast to slow. Now you have more time to place & angel the mic during the measurements. You can also do minor eq adjustments in the advanced tab in the plugin & systemwide afterwards but it is only a bass slider & a tilt eq. Hope this helps.

I am able to do good mixes on my Beyerdynamic 770's, but mixing a track I have been working on with this software and a reference has resulted in some ridiculous results. My mixing and production has gone up to another really recommend this software. If you know what you are doing, then it will give you amazing results!!!

There is definitely voodoo going on haha. Everything just clicked in my head as to why the name is SONAR - WORKS. to my understanding the calibration software can detect items around it and their distance by just sending waves out ? That's pretty cool lol I'm sure there's more to it but there is definitely something awesome going on!!

Good review. I've been happy with Sonarworks AND ARC2/2.5. Combined with a good amount of acoustical treatment, they really help a lot. I can't decide which correction software is better.

What is the microphone looking for when it calibrates your monitors? Just room resonances?

Do the Audient and Focusrite interfaces play sound outside DAWs? Btw, put SPAN before Wavex NX and Reference 4, trust me, you don't want any "non-intentional mix buss processing" modifying what SPAN analyzes.

While not intending to sound negative, isn't it sort of expected that we work on things like speaker placement (equilateral triangle etc), choice of speakers, ideal spot in the room for the mixing area and of course acoustic treatment before using room correction software? I was just very surprised to see what looks like a pair of ordinary PC speakers on your desk!

The reason it does not come with a clip is because it is meant to be used hand-held. There is no reason to grapple with a mic stand.

You mean he is better than ARC, more accurate? ARC sound is not accurate?

I can't create a calibration profile, because the mic input gain level is too low even when cranked up to max. I'm using a focusrite scarlett 2i4 (1st gen.). Can't find any information bout this issue. I contacted the sonorworks and focusrite support, but they haven't replied yet. I'd be pleased if someone could help....
