Just a shepperd, just a fisherman just a carpenter. Just a servant of God.

Amen, brother. This is my go to channel whenever I finish an Old Testament book. I come here for explanation. I’m grateful to the Lord for your ministry. I pray it’s reaching souls for Christ.

Amos interceded with God, and God listened and decided to not destroy Israel. The prayers of a righteous man seem to be effectual, a common theme in scripture. How much more effectual must be the prayers of those who have gone on to be in the presence of God (the saints 😊)!

Really? The personal application is God can use anyone? Nothing about helping the poor, which God hounds on Israel for 4 whole chapters and half of another (Amos 2:6-6:14) Listen, I'm not trying to push for communism or socialism, but the top 3 lessons learned from the book of Amos are: 1) Do not become cold to the poor and needy, 2) Help the poor and needy (again, doesn't need to be on a government scale), 3) Worship become meaningless if you do not love your neighbor as yourself
